Pros

Weatherford used to be a wonderful place to work. It is doubtful it can regain that status but if it did that would be a "pro". Until then the only "pro" is the hardworking people down the ladder who are used and abused by an arrogant and inept management team.

Cons

Weatherford is on the verge of bankruptcy. The management is desperate and ill equipped to handle such an environment. The company hires it's managers and executives on the quid pro quo method. When the company started faltering, the best people left. Weatherford then hired some throw away people from Halliburton and Schlumberger, who then in turn hired their substandard buddies for Weatherford openings. The mid-level to executive management positions are almost all inhabited now by people who were let go by the other companies because they have no skill or acumen in these roles. The executive positions are inhabited by very inept people who just hide in their offices and collect paychecks. Some of them are also extremely arrogant and overcompensate their lack of abilities with puffed up egos. Everyday the lower level employees have to walk through the garage and see the Range Rovers and Porsches and Mercedes Benzs etc etc of these bosses who do nothing but screw the company up and lay people off. They have no regard for the workers that drive the company daily. Only themselves and their bonuses. No strategy or decision lasts more than 3-4 months. No leadership. No direction. No hope for promotion or advancement unless your "in the club". The CEO responsible for driving the Co into the ground was fired and given $35 million dollars to leave. Unbelievable.

Pros

Weatherford provided me with a very good salary and benefits. And I enjoyed having the responsibility of ordering all the equipment, as well as maintaining an actuary inventory count, along with the honors of being in charge of shipping/receiving.

Cons

Way to many wanna be chiefs and not enough indians to deal with most of the time. I did a lot of cleaning up other peoples work that was done incorrect, because they wanted it done their way, not by standard procedures. Some just don't care if it's or right or wrong. Weak management just don't want to step on anyones toes. So, me myself and I, check invoices before invoiced to correct prices, part numbers and equipment daily because of so many errors made of those who wanna be chiefs! Also having to except an early retirement package with this company before Uncle Sam agrees because of my age, was something I didn't want to happen.
