Weedmaps: a place where your work matters and the people you work with become lifelong friends
Pros
One of my favorite parts about Weedmaps is the ability for the work that you do to make a true impact on our business and the marijuana industry. We have the responsibility that one would feel at a startup, but are in the transitional phase of blooming into a full blown enterprise technology company. Our rapid growth has been a wild ride, but the best part is welcoming all the new and talented people into the company. The people that Weedmaps attracts are not only subject matter experts in technology, marijuana and various other fields, but they are some of the kindest and most engaged people I have ever worked with. The leadership at Weedmaps drives our culture and the ideology that marijuana is a part of our DNA. They are the most generous leaders I have ever worked for. I can't even beginning to describe how blessed we are, but I can start with a few things: -catered lunch daily -healthy snack programs -top of line benefits -amazing holiday and PTO program -yoga... oh yah -raffles that give away concert tickets and tickets to sporting events -generous salaries and 401k -product samples of our favorite plant :) -career development and growth -ability to go to conferences and take classes to further education in your field -Weedmaps event involvement... "sure I'll work the Coachella house and hang with a bunch of celebs!!" ;) -Involvement in industry association groups -travel This job is pretty much a dream come true for all 230 employee that work at Weedmaps. The ability to marry my professional life, with my personal life of being a long time marijuana advocate, has been one of the most fulfilling journeys I've embarked on.
Cons
Weedmaps is in hyper growth which means we all have to work hard and work until the job is done. I don't really consider this a con, as I am someone who thrives in a busy environment, but if you are looking for a 9-5, this is not the company for you.
