Pros

Very few. The property I lived at was pretty and the employees there rock. Also the pay was pretty good but not enough for how much work the manager doesn’t do and hands off to you.

Cons

Everyone is very fake to your face and the company is ran by lawyers so you are basically just their little WP robots. Their is literally a script for every scenario it’s laughable. No free will at WP, they become your dictators. They hired me for the position in March, and I moved 600 miles away from home excited for a new life. I started on the first day of shelter in place for Covid-19. So that was crazy, I actually stepped up to the plate and handled all the rent deferrals and everything on my own during my first week in a company and showed Major skill and leadership and barely got any credit. Also team members would take credit for the great things I would do. Our leases and pricing literally went up right after I was hired on the team? So I worked there for 1 month it is now the end of April and they fired me today, and told me I cannot live in my onsite apartment that I signed a 9 month lease for and have to be out in 2 weeks. Mean while I’m a young woman all alone here during covid 19, with no job, no home, and have to drive 18 hours alone back home or find a new job and home here in 2 weeks. All because I wasn’t a good fit for the team. A true shame...I’ve never been fired from a company but I also have never been more relieved to walk away from such a toxic group of people. My two co workers and the maintenance team were lovely except for the fact everyone talk about religion and “God” in the office which made me feel very uncomfortable. The manager never tried to make me feel like part of the team and she actually said the reason I was being fired was for tardiness which I was only actually late 2 times when I first started and was adjusting to my new life and when my friend passed away, mean while she took a 2 hour lunch last week to buy a lamp for her office. Which was tacky anyway. I don’t wanna be hateful so I will leave it here but, it’s a shame bc the company would be so incredible if they didn’t have such a terrible management team especially at the property I was located at. I would come home mentally exhausted every night bc you are not allowed to yourself there. I feel so bad for the people there, they walk around like little drones and sit at their desks and answer the phone and have no human emotion. CORPORATE DRONES!

We are disappointed to hear your review of Weinstein Properties and want you to know that we have shared your comments about your experience with the appropriate parties. We wish we had the opportunity to address any conversations regarding religion being discussed in the workplace when you were here but please know that we are looking into that and will address it. We would like to talk about your comments regarding employees being “robots” as we strongly disagree with that. We provide training, procedures, and templates to make it easier for employees to learn and handle situations. We take pride in providing a high level of customer service and to do that, we have learning tools in place but our employees and their unique and caring personalities are what make us achieve that level. In addition, attendance is important and ensures that we continue to operate smoothly. As you know, we’ve been able to talk with you regarding your apartment and from the start, let you know that we would work with you. Of course, feel free to reach out to us if you have any additional questions. We would like you to know that we’re sorry that this path did not work out for you and we wish you the best of luck in the future.

Pros

Good training program, flexible schedule, that's about it.

Cons

No commissions, when you live onsite they take your rent out of your paychecks, corporate people are like high school cheerleaders...fake, act so happy all the time, but will talk down on you behind closed doors, won't promote within. Please ignore the good reviews. When I worked there my manager had us post good reviews on here and gave us a bonus for doing so. How crazy is that? People come and go. Once they start and are literally brainwashed to think this company walks on water. Eventually they realize how crap this company is and they leave. I am still friends with some residents at the property and all I hear is how there is another new employee. Please please please please do not work for this company.

We’re really sorry to hear that you did not enjoy working here. Throughout the hiring process, we are very transparent in the fact that we do not offer commissions, but instead offer a healthy bonus structure. Commission is not always guaranteed and it can create an environment that doesn’t promote teamwork. Our bonus structure, which was revamped this year, has received very positive feedback from current employees. With regards to rental discounts, you are correct that rent payments are automatically deducted from the employee’s paycheck however, this saves the employee from having to make a payment on their own time. We do have to say that your comment about paying employees to leave Glassdoor reviews is totally false – we do not do that, nor would we ever. Again, we’re sorry to hear that you didn’t feel that our company was a good fit for you. We had hoped that it would have turned out for the better and please know that we truly wish you the best.

Pros

I will say that I have met some amazing coworkers and truly enjoy the residents. Other than that this company is not what everyone is saying it is. (Probably encouraged reviews from corporate to look good)

Cons

If you are looking for a great place to work and you want growth this is not the place to do it. This company makes a lot of promises up front that seem extremely enticing. “Growth opportunity, great work life balance, great place to work overall”... this is not the case. First of all as a Leasing Consultant you are over worked and under paid and cannot get paid overtime unless approved (which is rare) there has been many times I have stayed over an hour after work to get caught up and pretty much been told it is what it is because I didn’t request overtime. I have also worked 12 days in a row with no day off (this is not uncommon with how payroll runs). There really is no room for growth unless you are well liked or are close with someone in upper management (this company plays favorites A LOT). I have seen employees be considered for a leadership position who couldn’t even do basic leasing tasks or call to follow up with residents but because another manager liked them they were quickly considered for management. You can have ample experience, work hard, try and prove yourself while running yourself ragged and STILL not be considered for management. It is very clicky here and if you are not in this click your chances are slim. I know of property managers who essentially just sit in the office watching Netflix or avoiding work at all cost and putting all duties on the leasing team. I put in this review anonymously because of the chance this company could recourse or use the review against me. My advice is to simply look elsewhere I could go on about my experience with this company but it is not even worth my time. I didn’t even feel comfortable having this conversation with anyone in upper management because of being scared that it would not stay confidential. (Which most things aren’t) Oh, the benefits are terrible as well. Extremely expensive and barely cover anything.
