Very inbred, but lowkey

Pros

The pressure you get at big name campuses to publish and present at conferences is not so much a problem here. Focus on teaching, though they present themselves as a research institution.

Cons

This is not a friendly campus, not compared to other colleges I've taught at in the midwest and east coast. People keep to themselves. It's a beautiful place but it's chilly, in the way of the infamous 'Seattle Freeze'. Given the cost of living here (and housing, especially) the pay scales are low.

Pros

The campus is beautiful, the student energy can be contagious

Cons

Office politics are a constant. It’s hard to get to know your coworkers because it’s so clique-ish. Policies apply only to some people
