Pros

Benefits from day one. Book of business to begin. Training is good initially. Co-workers are fun. Very high initial commissions. Very good pension...if you last

Cons

Poor leadership...worst I've ever seen. Turnover/employee retention is a non-focus New rep failure rate 88-95% Poor recruiting. Too many old ex-military in management. Salary only lasts 7 weeks. Poor residual income. 3 year max Like most sales positions/companies they do not care about you.

Pros

This is an established, stable company. W&S is a great place to work if you want a "recession-proof" job; in the 120+ year history of the company, they have never laid off employees.

Cons

This is an "old school" company--- not laid back at all. Be prepared for professional dress code, strict email and internet policies, and a "we've always done it that way" explanation for policies and procedures. The technology used is also very outdated (especially within the life insurance division of the business).
