      Westinghouse used to be a nice place to work at

      Pros

      Large corporation with a decent corporate organizational structures, and nice benefit offering. Also very nice, new headquarters building with very nice amenities.

      Cons

      Company suffered after the Fukoshima disaster and has never recovered. It is not a good prospect at this time. Their IT department is in shambles.

      Pros

      Competitive salary but new leadership and majority owner Toshiba are eroding this advantage. Opportunity to see the world and very good facilities.

      Cons

      Recent cost cutting has hurt morale. New leadership does a lot of talking but not much action. Layoffs to cut waste need to go deeper but stop cutting benefits on those retained. Too much virtual training and too many emails on direction - this should come from a face to face discussion with your manager

      Engineering Salaries are competitive. Depending on the department, you are likely to get endless rewards despite poor performance.

      Cons

      Salaries for non-engineering positions are not competitive. Depending on the department, you are likely to be the only one working. If the rest of the people in your group do actually work, it's likely you'll never see a reward or acknowledgement. Westinghouse rewards work with more work.
