Pros

There are literally no pros to working here unless you like mindless meaningless work an d leadership that has no clue what is going on.

Cons

So Im a minority and I know this will sound like im playing the race card but this place is racist or management seems to tolerate it. My boss and coworkers would make inappropriate jokes and comments. I played along and tried to laugh it off but it would get worse and worse. I tried for it not to bother me but I finally had enough. I called the hotline to report the harrashment and racial comments and nothing happened. So I eventually met with HR and filled an official complaint. An investigation went on and then I was laid off a few weeks later. Sure there where layoffs going on but I think it is more than coincidence that I was the only one let go in my group while everyone else who is white was not laid off. Very disappointing a company allows this. Never call the hotline to report anything or speak up because you will be the one punished.

Pros

Industry standard salary and benefits.

Cons

No incentive compensation program. As soon as you walk in the door it is painfully obvious that you are an employee number, not an employee. All of the senior seller doers who built their respective offices have gotten sick of it and left or moved out of operations into Business Development. In their place has come a generation of sycophants who can't manage anything beyond a spreadsheet. Absolutely no client focus. The constant push for utilization at all levels creates a culture that is prone to over-billing clients, especially in the public sector. People are leaving daily so they must have the lowest retention rate in the industry. I never felt like I was part of a team.

Pros

With the acquisition of Amec Foster Wheeler, it is a huge, international company on every corner of the globe. Lower/Mid-level managers have been superb. The Amec Foster Wheeler management was engaged and cared about safety and employees even as the industry's economic environment deteriorated.

Cons

Wood Group does not seem to understand what they bought in Amec Foster Wheeler and are making redundant/outsourcing their technology services. The brain drain has hurt, and many have doubts we can deliver the anywhere near the level our customers have come to expect before the acquisition. No raises some years, tiny bonuses for top employees, under-market salaries, no money for training. Huge and non-surgical layoffs and the technology talent is already gone or leaving. Industry and company are struggling due to low oil/gas prices.
