      Pros

      Recognition program when the awards are given and approved. Flexible working depending on the leader.

      Cons

      Within my time at WH, things have gone downhill rapidly. From insincere company updates to layoffs this week the lack of communication from leadership is astounding. From HX having reviews removed to gaslighting reviewers in their responses, the cognitive dissonance between what we preach to the market to what we actually experience is unreal. Each company update maintains the position that everything is fine and fantastic but yet pipeline has slowed down and we've been in a hiring freeze for a year. This has not once been communicated in a company update. These layoffs were poorly communicated and left many people in a state of uncertainty for an entire day. The CHRO that was hired left shortly after starting with 0 communication to employees on their exit.

Workhuman took the difficult decision to restructure its team to ensure that we continue to deliver maximum value to customers by investing in their needs. We are heartbroken by the decision and are committed to being as generous and helpful as possible with those individuals impacted by these changes. I want to address the point about the layoffs, as this is a human moment that we are all still grappling with. While we deeply regret that for some of our humans there was uncertainty throughout the day of the announcement, we were committed to communicating with the people directly impacted by the layoff in person, and not notifying them by email. Your advice to management is important and something we endeavour to do better at moving forward. If you would like to come and discuss the views you have shared above with me directly, I am more than happy to speak in confidence at any stage.

      Nice office space - multiple company gatherings/celebrations every year (pre-covid)

      Cons

      Overtime hours 25-50% of the time (unpaid for salaried of course) No sense of career growth or any advised structure for performance - loves saying that you can "create your own career path" constantly No sense of transparent goal setting for the company at large - goals are not measurable, roadmaps are thrown out the window halfway through every year Leaders change their mind on a dime and in turn, micromanage individual projects, instead of setting a vision and empowering employees to get the work done (relates to above) Very performative positivity which creates inauthentic culture. Have been told in meetings to not ask any negative questions, there is no opportunity to discuss things that could be improved

Finally, our people leaders are provided with education and resources that allow them to set SMART goals for their team members and build team cultures that encourage feedback, psychological safety, and connection.

      Great Product - Fake & Stale Managment

      The reward platform is great!! Customers love it and employees love it.

      Cons

      Upper management is condescending and lacks communication skills. There is a serious “ Frat Bro” problem at this company. I constantly hear inappropriate things on conference calls. You will often hear, “this is how we have always done it!”. Which is ridiculous for a tech company that claims to be innovative. There is something strangely unsettling about this place. One last thing and this is minor, when will they stop putting out those poor production quality conference videos with cheesy music and cheesy editing??? It’s totally cringey to watch these videos and if I think that I’m sure customers think it too.
