Good company to start your career, little to no opportunity for growth in salary or performance-based promotion
Pros
Overall a good experience for my first employer post-college graduation. The team leader who I was assigned to was excellent and coached me on a variety of approaches, viewpoints and proactively listened to my struggles and successes being new to working in mental health fresh out of college with a degree in public relations. Took a chance on getting to know me in the interview (hour-long in person with hiring manager and my soon-to-be team leader or service coordinator per their nomenclature) and saw potential. Allowed creative approaches to be taken and emphasis on supporting clients in being successful was bountiful among coworkers. Good supportive environment from immediate supervisors and fellow case managers.
Cons
Low income starting wage for a college graduate with a four-year degree - my co-workers in orientation (both had jobs in professional career unlike me) and I made less than $15/hourly with no compensation for overtime. I heard that there was a class action lawsuit after I left in 2014 on employee-overtime pay but I must've missed out on knowing about it or if/how overtime pay was compensated for but it'd be nice if I was still eligible to be a plaintiff in it!! Upper management at times had unrealistic expectations, and there was a sense that case managers at times were afraid to voice concerns. Upper management didn't consult case managers when making changes in expectations or productivity, and often I feel there was little transparency for reason behind changes that affected my work life directly.
