Unfulfilling Environment Where Not Much Gets Done

Pros

* Catered meals twice a week * Nice location * Some interesting benefits ($25 a month allowance for health/wellness costs, Eco pass, etc) * Very flexible for work/life balance

Cons

* No one seems to work here, there are no consequences for missed deadlines, and there's no accountability. I've seen people literally just play video games at their desk - not even bothering to hide it - because nothing will be done. * No one in Denver is empowered to make a decision. Everything must be run through NZ and that process can take weeks to months... if a decision is even made. * The benefits package is not in line with other Denver software companies. You are expected to pay $200 a month for parking. The health insurance benefits don't include mental health, despite the supposed dedication Xero has for supporting their employees. * Raises don't seem to be a thing here, but on the other hand, when no one delivers anything of value, why would they be?

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I'm glad to hear that you liked the benefits, location and the meals. I'm sorry your experience has left you disheartened; that's the opposite of how we strive to enable people to really do the best work of their lives. You are right that we have paid parking available, for those include to use public transport we cover that in Denver for all employees via the eco-pass and we have EAP services available to all employees for mental health services, as well as 5 wellness days you can take if you need to recharge physically or mentally. Thank you again for your review

Great Product, Misguided leadership with no direction

Pros

- nice view of the city, some free snacks and beverages, nice office to work in, smart engineers who know what they're doing, people can make friends here

Cons

Where to start... - company struggles a lot with leadership (no guidance at all) so people work blindly towards goals that are unachievable. This provides management the excuse to out employees. - seen the sales team struggle constantly to make their number, with and without integrity and are forced to do this - the (US) company invests in a lot of unnecessary things that gets them no return - Management will never give straight answers to questions, no clarity at all where numbers/quotas come from - company over-promises but never delivers (such as product is always late and issues w/ compensation) - Recruiting team ignores internal referrals and HR doesn't solve anything. But everyone gives HR the "bad guy" work and makes them "lay off" employees without any good reason - Xero over hires employees then lays them off in a couple of months when they decide they're not needed anymore. Then will re-hire again, then lay off. It's a never ending cycle - Most of management will not stand up for their employees - be prepared to stand up for yourself and don't be surprised if you're thrown under the bus - employees are never asked for their opinion but they're too scared to give one anyway since they're afraid they'll lose their job over it - no direction - no room for growth opportunities or career advancement (will promise it when you start then will purposely neglect it) - no real, consistent training programs

Pros

The teammates I have met.

Cons

Employees are put in bad situations and forced to make career decisions within matters of days, their pay and compensation changes constantly,, their sales reps are not set up for success and are unprepared when something does change. They make decisions very quickly and give little time for employees to give feedback or take in what the change means for them. Employees are scared to give feedback and in anonymous platforms when feedback is submitted it is only met with "come talk to me." Sales leaders are not very transparent. Their technology stack is severely lacking to be a successful sales rep. They are severely understaffed in their operations department making it hard to get any type of reporting, including when it comes to metrics which you are comped on. It is a huge company that feels like they are using their US sales org to test out different approaches to see what sticks. As an employee, you get all the consequences. Nothing stays constant, not even the role you may have accepted or started out with. Change management techniques are poorly executed. Finally, there is almost no opportunity for career growth. Sales managers are very poor at training and career development , and often make assumptions and put you into roles due to short headcount, not what you actually want to be doing.
