Xero Response

I am sorry that your experience at Xero has been less than #Beautiful. We are always open to hearing feedback and addressing real issues that exist. We all play a part in the culture and community we build at Xero. I would encourage you to reach out and share more specific details with HR or our US President, Russ - we will always take time to listen to your concerns.

Pros

I could say the pool table, free snacks, table tennis, posh coffee machine, retro arcade machine or state of the art office make Xero a great place to work. But actually #beautiful offices are just a small part of why Xero are leading the way. I joined Xero 4 months ago and previously worked for a company that had most of the above, but none of the below - 1) Xero have values in place that shape the culture of the business. We have an MD that takes time out of his day to connect with new starters to #champion the importance of those values - have you ever worked for an organisation that does that?! 2) There seems to be a flat organisational structure - you will not find a member of the Leadership team shut away in a corner office! The management team are approachable and the workforce are encouraged to take #ownership for its actions. 3) There is a robust recruitment process in place that ensures we recruit the best talent in the market, in the most #human way possible. When you join Xero, you attend a welcome call with the CEO, Rod Drury who is based in New Zealand - how many times have you have a chat with your CEO?! 4) Xero are an industry interrupting, growth company that is exciting & a #challenge at the same time. I recently attended a recruitment fair and was gasped at in excitement when a small business owner saw me in my Xero t-shirt - when was the last time someone reacted like that, when you told them where you worked?! Xero is honestly changing people's lives and I am thrilled to be a part of it.

Cons

For those that have not previously worked in a Global organisation, time zones can be frustrating. The on-boarding journey needs polishing, but I am fully prepared to tackle that!

Pros

Modern, open, inclusive, high performing culture Strong leadership Very smart and talented team An excellent environment to achieve at a high level Successful company, with bags of opportunity ahead of it At Xero you feel you're contributing to something that's actually making difference to people's lives. There's a real feeling that we're all building something truly special - very rewarding work.

Cons

A fast moving company naturally brings with it a degree of pressure to deliver and adapt quickly to change. Some will thrive in this environment, others will struggle. Needs self-discipline to maintain work/life balance at times.
