Pros

I've been employed at XIFIN for a little over five years now and find it to be a solid, well-run company. I wouldn't say the place is perfect but overall I am quite satisfied. I must say though that some of the more strongly negative reviews I've read here strike me as being off-base--some seem to have the same style and phrasing which suggests to me that more than one may have been written by the same (possibly disgruntled) former employee. I recommend XIFIN.

Cons

The only negatives I can offer is that there does seem to be a higher than average employee turnover in some of the more demanding departments. Also, XIFIN's products are superb--the best in the business. But it takes a lot of time and effort for users and employees to master them. This will problem will only become more acute as the health care industry continues to grow and become more complex. I see this as one of the biggest challenges XIFIN will need to overcome in the future.

Pros

There really aren't any worth mentioning. There weren't enough that made me want to stay here. Nope. None at all.

Cons

I don't even know where to begin. Highest turn over I've ever seen, people quitting and getting fired left and right. Almost everyone who works here feels like when they come to work they won't have a job at the end of the day. Management fires people at the drop of a hat and never tells you that you're doing a good job. The pay is lower than most places as well. As another person mentioned, it's like going back to high school. People have their own cliques and they will throw you under the bus to make you look bad and them better to upper management. There's a lot of miscommunication and disorganization. They also care more about quantity over quality. Management is very unprofessional and some use profanity. They pile the workload on you and have very high, unrealistic expectations and expect you to meet all of them. I've worked many jobs in my life but this one is the worse job I've ever had. Seriously, don't bother applying here. It will be the worst decision you've ever made and you will be absolutely miserable. Go work at a hospital or even a private practice. ANYTHING is better than this place.

Successful business, stringy management

Pros

The company has their main product that seems to be a good source of revenue. The executive team seems to know and understand the health market well. Due to this, the company is doing well, stable and has plenty of cash to invest in new product development and expanding the company's portfolio. Your job and position in this company is pretty much secure. As long as you are competent in your profession and can do what you're told, you'll keep your job at XIFIN. They also have free bagels every Friday and a soda fountain. The employees are good to work with and tend to be friendly. There's also plenty of work to do and never a dull moment. The company holds two parties every year. A christmas party which is always great. Then there's the summer party, which is a casual event and includes families. The company has a very open environment. If you want to, you can talk to the CEO at anytime, or any of the other executive staff.

Cons

You will get the sense that the company doesn't seem to flinch on spending lavish amounts of money on services, equipment, parties or anything else. Every year, they also announce another benefit that employees will be receiving. Don't be fooled. Salaries are normally between 5 and 10 percent lower than you will find elsewhere. Their benefits are also just okay. They make it seem like they are being generous, but really they could do much better for their employees. The company isn't interested in promoting within...unless they have no idea what it is that you do, then you'll be promoted, guaranteed. Across all departments, XIFIN hires outside talent instead of promoting current talent. Then, they don't listen to new talent's ideas (which are usually trashed by the executives in favor of doing things the old, archaic ways). So what happens? The new talent finds a job somewhere else where they'll be listened to, leaving XIFIN with a glaring hole in their staff, which instead of replacing they'll just have the current, underpaid employees do the additional work and then still not promote them until they find another temporary outside talent employee or be so satisfied that the hole is covered that they close the position. At a recent company meeting, the CEO quoted the Steve Jobs quote about hiring smart people so that they can tell us what to do. This is definitely not true with the company as a whole. It may be true of the CEO, but definitely not of the rest of the executive staff. The rest of them consider themselves the smartest, then force terrible, uninformed decisions that negatively impact the customer. Incidentally, XIFIN talks about how they can't find anymore talent in San Diego. They have concluded that they must have hired them all (this is not a joke, they sincerely think this way). However, XIFIN's reputation as stated above keeps talented employees away, as they know they can get a job anywhere and XIFIN doesn't listen to new employees.
