Pros

Flexible schedule prior to 2:00pm Have autonomy on how you would like your site to be run Work with children and are actively moving

Cons

-2% raise every year -- if you even get one at all. When I spoke to my supervisor about deserving a raise (I had received high marks in my evaluation, attempted to go the extra mile for work, and received great feedback) I was told 'You will need to wait until December (possibly February) for the budget to come out to see if there is room -- I had originally asked in August. My supervisor said, 'I think you've shown a lot of effort and you deserve a raise, I will work hard for you to get one.' Eventually, HR told my supervisor that we do not do merit based raises and everyone will get the 2% raise. When I eventually put in my notice, several months later, I was then told they could potentially give me a $3,000 raise. -While we are given generous sick and vacation time, it is highly frowned upon for you taking the days off -In general, Kids Place feels like a money source for the YWCA rather than individuals who work hard for and care about their schools. -With a salary of just above $30,000, YWCA fails to provide employees a livable wage and subsequently, fails to follow its mission of 'Eliminate Racism, Empower Women' -Management then attempts to find ways to either limit hours, resources, or budgets of our site -Chronically understaffed -No room for advancement or career growth
