Pros

Lots of freedom, rewarding, friends for life

Cons

lonely job, if you have a terrible area director, might as well quit right now. Everything revolves around them. Can never truly turn off, lots of travel

Pros

Strong emphasis on building relationships as the foundation of all that is done throughout the organization encourages lifelong friendships. Areas are given a lot of freedom to creatively find ways to work with the community and school where they are active.

Cons

At times, the position of Area Director can feel isolated; especially if you are in a small town. The freedom to adapt that is given to Areas can be tough to work with when you are new to the organization and looking for more specific guidance on how to approach the community and school. Fundraising the Area budget can be difficult depending on the area where you working.
