Pros

Product is really powerful (but that means nothing if you can't sell it)

Cons

Where to start? What was once a vibrant company with an electric, teamwork focused culture, Zaius is now a company that seems to lack all sense of direction, transparency, training, and growth opportunities. What is the most shocking to me, is that Zaius doesn’t even bat an eye to losing great employees that have been busting their hump for years to truly drive the business forward. They just let them walk and since have made no efforts to promote any form of career growth or put any formal training process in place for new hires. They promote shady business practices amongst reps, and reward those that cheat the system. All in all, this is where sales careers go to die - just ask one of the 40+ people that have left in the last 9 months. All thanks to grossly incompetent leadership. As a candidate, expect to be sold a pipe dream full of “fun office activities, a beer fridge, and catered lunches!”. The unfortunate reality is that the culture is similar to that of a funeral home. Catered lunches are rare, office activities are nonexistent or just a flat out waste of time, and the most motivated person in that building seems to be the janitor that comes in after hours to clean the office. In terms of the work environment, you can expect loads of passive aggressive emails/slack messages from the office management/HR team complaining about bowls in the sink, or granola bar wrappers on the counter- which is funny because those messages were likely sent from Porters, the bar downstairs (and their daily watering hole). By far the most incompetent function within the business considering nearly every hire was an internal referral. Expect to be met with nothing but hostility when dealing with them. For a company that preaches “transparency” as one of their core values, they completely lack any. They willingly over hired, despite severely underperforming from a sales perspective, and due to their negligence, they’ve taken what was once a company that hit sales metrics for 8+ quarters in a row, and turned it into an organization that has to scratch and claw to hit just a small fraction of their quarterly goals. Stay clear of this runaway train, it's only a matter of time before it derails completely.

Pros

Great location... right across from North Station. Ability to work from home and extremely flexible with vacations.

Cons

Everything else. They preach "transparency", but keep everything under wraps. Sales leadership is driving the business straight into the ground. There is no separation between the sales managers and the HR team, in fact, the HR leadership is the least approachable out of all of them. If you have any concerns, you can't voice it to anyone without having an immediate target on your back. Major layoffs creating a fear culture mixed with long-standing unattainable goals. There are so many great companies in Boston... please do not make a mistake by interviewing here.

Pros

Very few redeeming qualities. Flexible work from home and location near north station if I had to pick some. Positive reviews here are before things started to go south, so they aren’t untrue as of the time they were written simply outdated.

Cons

While the underlying technology has some benefit, Zaius has been unable to find a sustainable direction with regards to product as well as messaging. Management has laid off teams and pivoted product to no avail. Engineering may be strong but sales and overall leadership is severely lacking. I would stay far away until they can find their footing, it’s a pretty bleak outlook right now.
