A good place to work

Pros

Zaius is an awesome place to work. I have no idea what some of the other posters are talking about. We have weekly virtual happy hours, we get to buy discounted equipment from the company to build a home office and we don't need to come into the office during this pandemic. HR has gotten some bad press here (it's hard to say nice things if you're angry because you've been let go and Zaius had some of that around the start of Corona virus), but our HR rep is able to answer my questions about healthcare, vacation days and company policies. She has worked to make Zaius culture into what it is today over her years here. The team they have hired here is intelligent and motivated and in many cases wildly successful at what they do. Zaius has even arranged to send us t-shirts! We get industry standard vacation, and an awesome 3% 401k match. I feel like I can talk to HR about my concerns without it getting back to my boss and that HR will help to work through those issues with me. Like every company Zaius has its ups and downs, it's not going to be the next google, but I'm proud to be working here. We've got a great product, and awesome customer facing teams (both sales and customer success)!

Cons

There are few additional benefits. We don't get our internet paid for, or free lunches or other things that other companies sometimes do. If you're looking for amazing perks, this isn't the place to go... but if you're looking for a solid place to work, this is a great place to be. Customers can be demanding, and we're asked to work hard every day... and I don't get to see my coworkers face to face or hang out with them, but thats the story of almost all businesses.

Pros

Having read the past few reviews, I think context is very important here. I recently departed Zaius and want to address some of the challenges that have been laid out on here: Yes - the last year was tough on Zaius and many employees, but most specifically the Sales team. The market shifted, and Zaius's historical value proposition was hard to justify due to pricing challenges in their target segments. No - to put this solely on Sales leadership feels misplaced, potentially unfair. I have worked, personally and directly, with the head of sales and the leadership team in position there. All care very deeply for the success and well-being of the team. Sometimes in business things don't go as planned, there are collateral actions for that - but I can vouch for the intent of the leaders and assure it is pure. Yes - Customer Success has also seen a fair share of recent turnover. No - that shouldn't give you pause. The folks on that team are incredible. The leaders who recently took over the Ongoing and the Technical side are both compassionate and legit. You will be in good hands. Yes - HR took a beating on here in their reviews. Some folks even resorted to personal attacks. No - that was not my experience, at all. I had to partner with these folks often. Their job is hard on a normal basis, factor in a shifting market and a right-sized organization over time and you have a recipe for people misplacing blame. Every time I worked with HR, I found empathetic folks who predominantly cared only about positive employee experiences. Ultimately, when I look at any job, I ask myself three questions: Are the folks there hard working? Is the company trying to do something different? Will I learn from this experience and come out stronger on the other side? Zaius provided a yes in all three of those areas for me.

Cons

Zaius is hard work - be prepared to roll up your sleeves to be successful.

My overall experience

Pros

I've had several months to think about my time at Zaius. I could have easily piled on like others, and I wouldn't have necessarily been wrong. I knew I was going to write a review about MY experience and now that I am in another role at another company I feel like its time. To echo what others have said, yes there was a time where it was super exciting and fun to be at Zaius. We saw a lot of success but almost everything became more difficult last year for lots of reasons. One positive was that I learned a lot from my manager and was one of the reasons why I was there as long as I was. In fact, there are a lot of experienced, very talented people across the company with a great skill set and ideas you can learn from. The product is very powerful and there are a lot of customers who rave about it.

Cons

Leadership couldn't agree on who we were or what we did. This effected everyone in company. There was a core group of people that held it all together but there was only so much they can do. What's been said about HR is true and there's more. Anyone that's been at Zaius knows exactly what I'm referring to - and they're just a nasty bunch.
