Pros

Great co-workers, cool product updates

Cons

PTO Policy: The PTO policy was extremely flawed. Our team of over 20 people had to share just 12 hours of PTO daily, which created unnecessary competition and fostered a toxic environment. I’ve never seen another company operate like this, and it left no room for work-life balance. To make matters worse, I wasn’t informed of this policy until the final day of training. Toxic Supervisor: My experience with my supervisor was highly negative, and there was no option to switch teams. She relied on fear tactics for minor, everyday mistakes, making the environment very stressful. Career growth discussions were consistently shut down, with her insisting that I wouldn’t earn more in other roles within the company. She even monitored my LinkedIn activity, asking me to stop engaging with posts—despite Zillow recruiters liking and reposting job openings at other companies. Rigid Work Schedules: Once your schedule is assigned, there’s little to no flexibility. Supervisors simply tell you to wait six months, bid for new shifts based on performance, and hope for the best. Tenured employees kept their ideal 9-5, Monday to Friday schedules, while newer hires were left working undesirable shifts, including weekends. If you’re unfamiliar with West Coast hours, this role may not be for you. Plus, you’re expected to take calls right up until your shift ends, which only adds to the workload and burnout. Lack of Internal Mobility: I applied to over 10 internal roles and was rejected from all of them without ever speaking to a recruiter or hiring manager. My supervisor claimed my resume wasn’t strong enough, despite never having seen it. She encouraged "coffee chats" with other teams, but from what I heard from long-term employees, those didn’t lead to any real opportunities outside the Support organization. My supervisor even suggested unpaid rotational programs, despite my background in a relevant area and my reluctance to take on more work without fair compensation.

Pros

Work Life Balance Discretionary Time Off - Flexible Good Pay Encouraged open door by management

Cons

Addressing the critical issue of underrepresentation, there is an evident lack of diversity for people of color, particularly in senior management where the representation stands at a mere 1%. Additionally, the pressure to meet sales quotas remains high, despite changes in the business model. It is noteworthy that despite a proven track record, the prior quarter was not achieved, warranting a careful examination of the underlying factors and potential mitigation strategies.
