- Overload on meetings
Trying to find time with team leaders is difficult. Dev leads and product owners are constantly being pinged from all directions. Through no fault of their own, they do eventually answer questions and address concerns. I've seen someone get pulled from their desk into a "command center" and then dragged out to the next room by someone else in the span of a few minutes.
- Overly ambitious on client commitments
With each team exposed equally to all clients, they get conflicting requirements and are forced to accommodate them all, with little room on deadlines. Often times, we will sign up for work and then later discover that the scope was larger than expected. To the dev team's credit though, they deliver to the best of the ability with the time given.
- Unclear roles and responsibilities
The only roles properly defined are for the Software Engineers. All other roles are either new to the company or barely defined. We have QA resources told to test external services or within each product. We have client leads that act as scrum masters, and architects that make product decisions. We have product owners coding prototypes for engineers.
