Pros

The only positives I can think of are that the benefits are somewhat decent and lunch is free. If you want to stay extremely busy or need some work experience, then this would be the place for you. But make sure to know you’re worth and know when to get out.

Cons

There is no work life balance unless you are senior associate or director. You will work for hours and hours, even on weekends because you have so much work load. Management likes to promote people based on how much you bleed the company culture, hard workers are overlooked. The company focuses too much on metrics and performance rather then the mental health of their employees. If you ask for help, help will only be temporary because there isn’t enough people and everyone else is overworked. Processes and protocols constantly change and only make the job more difficult and inefficient. The company’s core values are used to tear people down not up. You will have feedback meetings and development meets where criticism is not constructive nor helpful.

The Worst Company I've Ever Worked For

Pros

There's a 5 word minimum requirement so... The SIGH OF RELIEF at the end of the workday. Oh, and also free food*

Cons

Although my tenure at alliantgroup was short, I could write a novel on all of the cons working for alliantgroup presented. Let's start with the sheer lack of "transparency" during the interview process. I was told there were "trainings" every Tuesday and Thursday evening where "collaboration" and sharing "feedback" with one another would take place. This is far from the truth. I saw employees belittled and criticized if their "answer" wasn't exactly what the senior manager wanted to here. I was also NOT told that these "trainings" would last at times until 10 p.m. Are you for real? We all know that productivity drops as soon as the eighth hour of any given workday is approaching. It's almost like they want their employees to be so delirious after any given workday they'll wake up and do it all over again. That's exactly the control this company wants to have on it's workers and it's entirely apparent that this stems from the top down. The constant reply all emails were not only distracting from getting actual work done, but at many times distasteful coming from senior management and the CEO. On multiple occasions, I saw unprofessional memes and jargon. Now I understand why other reviewers compare the CEO and upper management of this company to "frat boy culture" and "the boys club." So distasteful. Let's talk about the working hours. 12-14 hours a day seemed to be the expectancy and norm, on top of being constantly available during after hours (which at that point is getting late into the evening hours). And let's not forget about working on the weekends. Yep, you get a laptop and company phone for a reason and you best be checking on your emails all weekend long. All this leads to and creates is a complete lack of respect for employee's lives outside of work and burnout. If you enjoy spending time on activities outside of your work life and have a family you'd like to go home to, forget about that happening at alliantgroup. They will take all your time and all your energy. Monday through Friday becomes a mere existence of sleep, eat, work, repeat. By the time the weekend rolls around I was at many times too exhausted and drained to even want to make plans. Back to the free food as mentioned above. There's no such thing as a free meal. They expect you to stay at your desk and work through your lunch . Every. Single. Day. I felt guilty and made to feel like I was doing something wrong if I needed to take a 15 minute mental break away from the work phone and computer. I'm writing this review as a working professional with several years of work experience at companies that treated me so much better than this. It seems that a lot of fresh out of college grads and people desperate for a job are scooped up by alliantgroup. Don't let yourself be one of those people. There ARE better companies out there who will treat you with respect and value your personal life. This company is not one of them. Moral of the story, learn from my mistake and do your homework and read the reviews before saying "I do." They'll try to reel you in with a seemingly decent salary and free meals, but upon realizing how many hours you'll actually be working, it's not even worth it.

Pros

There are no pros here besides your coworkers sans Management. Oh, and your prison food, which is essentially what it is since they’re low-key trying to trap you in the office so you won’t leave and work at your desk, is usually pretty tasty too. Health insurance is good if you are single. They pay 100% for you only. The gym would be great if I ever had time to use it. I only had time to window shop the weights only.

Cons

I’m kicking myself for not discovering Glassdoor sooner. If I would have read these reviews I would have never agreed to work here. They fill your head with promises of tremendous career growth and great raises and bonuses. Yeah, your salary may be great, but with the amount of hours you actually put in you would be better off working in retail. And don’t even think about leaving “on time”... if looks could kill on the way out the door I would be obliterated on the first try I managed to get up the courage to do it. People are always on edge about losing their jobs and crying in the bathroom is frequent. I took a job at Alliantgroup bc I had been laid off from an excellent oil and gas job. No matter how desperate you are, do not do it. You will regret it. If you are absolutely desperate for a job, I still don’t advise working here. Take a temporary job at the mall... ANYTHING, but just have more respect for yourself than to work here. Anything is better than here.
