Pros

Few and far between now. WFH is all I can think of.

Cons

Management recently implemented some policy changes that wreaked havoc on families and individuals, and execs can’t give the time of day to even pretend that they care about the harm they’re causing for the sake of a few extra bucks. All of our previously generous perks are being removed and replaced by “hustle culture”. Bonus structure is non existent - one finally exists, but how convenient that we missed our Q1 company goals for the first time EVER since I’ve been here, and so now we won’t get the bonus because it’s an “all or nothing” structure. Median pay is not competitive and not aligned with today’s needs. Company acts like working from home is such a big perk that it justifies them being able to skimp out on every other detail of good employment. Execs have a “other companies have it worse than you” attitude towards all the changes and are genuinely acting like employees are the problem for being upset.

Amazing company turned horrible

Pros

Absolutely amazing coworkers, such a close team and great minds. Remote work “Unlimited” PTO that you never want to take because quota is impossible to reach

Cons

When I first started at ezCater I absolutely raved about my job to all my family and friends. There was such positivity from everyone and things were going amazing. The sales kick off in January was so much fun and we trusted when our CEO said this team will lead us to our goals! 2 months later lays off half of that team. 4 months later brings on a “new” CRO (his friend) and lay offs, unattainable quotas, negativity, and more start happening. Our summer “party” was nothing but negativity and people upset over needing to start looking for a job. Its clear they are trying to clean house and lower level lay offs are in the near future. Its so sad because this was once such a good company that is now a sinking ship. Unfortunately, I beg you to stay away when I would have once begged you to join. Sales team, my advice is to update your resume’s sooner than later.

We are fortunate to work with such smart and motivated people, and I’m glad this has been a highlight for you. I’m also sorry that your experience at ezCater has changed. There have been some organizational changes and Sales quota adjustments to align with our larger business objectives and how we’re evolving as a business. We will continue exploring additional ways we can help support the Sales team and maintain the amazing culture we’ve created together. I’d welcome a chance to connect and discuss your feedback in greater detail. If you do not feel comfortable reaching out to me, I encourage you to speak with your manager or another member of the People team. Best regards, Diane

Nepotism at its finest

Pros

If you were here under original leadership you got to see what it feels like to have leaders that knew how to lead its teams to success will being genuine and transparent. You felt valued because they found good people and placed them where their talents were. You felt safe because leaders were always honest with you and open to feedback even happy because you got to fully show up. We all loved our jobs and you could tell. Ezcater was a unicorn that set the standard for a healthy workplace, promoted work life balance, practiced DEI, and prioritized its people and their career development.

Cons

Under current leadership ezcater no longer meets its own standard let alone the standard of a ‘’Best Workplace’’. We went from thriving to surviving almost overnight. We went from being the biggest ambassadors, telling our networks about this place to the need for a union. We went from ‘’Ask me anything’s” (AMA) to being yelled at for asking relevant questions and making relevant comments following a 3rd round of layoff’s and firings. Not to mention there has yet to be a formal company wide announcement of how massive the changes were. The CEO and his CRO bestie have organized a top down dismantling of culture and integrity. They changed EVERYTHING and simultaneously increased goals. They weaponized pay with the help of its legal team to ensure they no alarms are set off. The most mind blowing part about it is we don’t forsee this making us more successful let alone eligible for any of the accolades it once had.

We want all of our people to have an amazing experience at ezCater, and I am sincerely sorry that this has not been the case for you recently. Our company is growing, and with that comes some change. But one thing that hasn’t changed is our commitment to our people and our culture. We want to ensure that ezCater continues to be a great place to work and one where different voices and perspectives are heard. I’d welcome your ideas on how we could address your feedback to make your experience better, so I hope you’ll reach out to me directly to discuss. If you’re more comfortable talking to someone else at ezCater, I encourage you to connect with your manager or another member of the People team as your perspective is important to us. My best, Diane
