Pros

Pay Flexibility/remote workforce Incredibly smart and talented people

Cons

The company has done a complete 180 in the last year. ezCater used to have a really special culture and it was the most exciting place to work. Executive turnover and new leadership is heading in a new direction and changing how we operate. It seems like we are trying to emulate the cutthroat culture at Amazon, while still claiming to be the “best place to work” (and spamming employees with surveys to keep winning awards). There have also been multiple reorgs and layoffs, killing morale and stunting career growth. I am just so sad and disappointed, I never thought it would turn out like this.

Thanks for your review. I agree our people are incredibly talented and smart, our pay is competitive, and our hybrid-remote environment helps provide our people the flexibility they need to balance life and work. I’m sorry to hear that you feel our culture has changed this year. Although there have been organizational changes to better align our structure with our strategic priorities and business needs, a positive and collaborative culture remains a high priority as does providing our people the opportunity for growth and development. I value your perspective and would appreciate speaking further if you’re interested in doing so. With sincere appreciation, Diane

Pros

Amazing coworkers. There is no one else in the world that I want to work with. Pay is good. Benefits are good as well.

Cons

Senior level leadership treats the company like an experiment. Our voices are not heard until after things turn sour. We seem to have entered a phase of “grow at all costs”. Employee morale is no longer a concern. Compensation is no longer a concern. We have extremely audacious goals for the business that frankly aren’t worth the pain and suffering it will take to achieve them.

Thank you for your review. Your feedback is important, and I appreciate you sharing your perspective. I agree, our people are amazing and we take a lot of pride in offering competitive pay and benefits. Our people, and overall employee morale, continue to remain a top priority. We want to ensure everyone’s voices are heard and different viewpoints are encouraged and valued. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you further if you’re open to it. Please feel free to reach out. With sincere appreciation, Diane

Pros

Unfortunately a lot of the positives have been cut back or taken away completely.

Cons

The new CEO (promoted from CFO) only cares about numbers and has a very condescending approach. He has implemented a handful of changes that make no sense, harm employees and are killing the company’s culture almost overnight. The new bonus structure that was announced is extremely unethical. ISO grants were discontinued without notice. Now, the company needs to meet a goal to get a bonus. And get this - the folks doing all of the work (IC and lower level managers) earn a lower target bonus than the management team. It’s 10% if you have a “higher up” role and 5% for people doing the boots on the ground work. - Why do people at the bottom of the totem pole, who are doing all the work, get the least reward *if* the company meets goal? - This is incredibly backwards. If you want to incentivize the folks who you actually need to do the work that’s making change, don’t treat us like this when it comes to bonuses. Why was this not even across all levels? Benefits have been removed without warning, yet a company principle is to trust in transparency. - Flexible PTO is now capped, tracked, and micromanaged. Salaried employees are expected to clock in and out, have their time off micromanaged, but are also expected to stay “late” to make sure the work gets done. - Benefits that have been advertised for years were stripped away. Summer Fridays have been eliminated and parental leave has been reduced. - The timing is extremely short notice which has resulted in inequitable benefits across the team. Expectant mothers will have different benefits solely based on when they give birth. All of this in the name of — what? Losing the culture and work life balance this company has thrived on?
