Flexible remote work but chaotic environment

Flexibility due to being remote and unlimited PTO.

Cons

Super reactive teams and everything moves QUICKLY. May be a fit for people who enjoy that but it felt like chaos to me and is not an environment I wanted to be a part of. Everything was just so up and down and felt like you couldn't even use the unlimited PTO you had because otherwise you wouldn't be able to keep up.

Great experience, great opportunity, lots of fast paced learning

Cons

Salary bands aren't worth the amount of time and effort spent in the role. Often times Engineering Manager is the glue behind engineering, project management, and stakeholder leadership instead of just managing. For the time and effort spent in the role I felt like I needed more compensation given the amount of fires that EMs were expected to put out.

Not bad team, some engineers are really good and genuinely smart, though most already left. Mediocre benefits Fully remote position Ambitious projects and scope of work At some point, H&H held great reputation

Cons

In one year company turned into horrible and toxic workplace. Absolutely horrible situation with favoritism. All external hires came from cruise. Accumulated tech debts, a lot, nobody cares All upper and middle management fired and replaced Quality of new-old-friends hire is so so. Constant silent layoffs, literally each quarter colleagues disappear. No promotions, fake promises to raise a bar and compensations Only AI - rooting brain disease is blossoming and encouraging here
