Reality Check

Pros

I have worked at iNET since 2009. In that amount of time I have seen people come and go as is the case with any business. The difference however with iNET is that we care. It’s a profit making business for our clients and is a wealth growing venture for its employees. All while not sacrificing to the all-encompassing god of enterprise its humanity. By saying this I mean the company cares. From the owners all the way down to the people whom take out the trash and clean up after everyone else (myself actually). This is why it sickens me slightly to read some of the hate that is on this site in relation to my place of employment, and feel that I must inform you of the reality of the situations therein. To be fired is not as easy as you would think when the owners of the business want to make a profit, but care enough about their employees to regularly take time out of their very busy days to simply stop and chat. To see how you are doing and how your weekend was. So hard in fact that from the time I have worked there I can barely recall instances that required such an action to be taken. It only being used when someone; went into a swearing and shouting contest with one of the owners, continuously called in with lie after lie of why not appearing into work (ranging from falling down stairs to having cancer) and then being found online in a game, or coming into work several times reeking of drugs and alcohol. The most common reason and most posted to this site I would assume (unless people are lying) is if they quit. Now I needs not go into the reasons for people to quit. There are way too many to go into, but there is a different kind of quit for iNET, and the reason again is that we care. People have quit iNET for reasons such as moving, schooling, or career changes, but as long as they actually perform their work. Do the task that they applied for and to the competence that they claimed to have. We have taken them back. What other business can claim the same? Conversely sometimes people cannot handle the pressure of their own failings. They make claims that they cannot uphold and try to do work that they are just not able to do. And this causes pressure to be directed towards them. Pressures that build and build till either they buckle under it or hanker down and grit their teeth through it. Gaining much praise and usually an increase to the paycheck, and not to mention the knowledge and ability that they did not possess when they began. INET is a profit making business for our clients, and is a wealth making venture to its employees. Both in a monetary sense as well as in newfound life skills. I gladly accept any whom would be willing to come and join us, and know that we may seem to be asking much at times, but your never alone when your with us because we care.

Cons

If you read the pro’s to working here you will also see the cons at the same time. The cons being that you cannot expect to flourish at iNET if you are not willing to be more than a fly on a wall or a stick in the mud. As in all things, including life, you must work to achieve that which you want in life. INET is no different and it is not for the people whom wish to coast through life doing a minimalist job.

Pros

iNET was my first job out of college and I've been here for 5 years now. At first it was somewhat of rude awakening because it's a fast paced environment that doesn't accept mediocrity. iNET strives to be the best, and if you can acquire that attitude your potential is limitless. A positive attitude really goes a long way. I've learned more at iNET in 5 years than I would working at any other marketing firm for 20. Every single day I'm challenged and I'm never watching the clock counting down the minutes until 5pm. The days go quick because your projects are always rotating all while learning along the way. If you treat it like a professional career that you REALLY care about you'll be rewarded continuously and graciously.

Cons

Sometimes it gets stressful, but what job doesn't?! Don't work here if you aren't willing to work hard and grind it out. The turnaround on projects is extremely quick and average cookie cutter skills aren't accepted. Some updated amenities and curb appeal would be very nice, but isn't a deal breaker considering what is to come. I don't really care about cold bathrooms or bad tasting coffee, that's child's play. I care about being able to support my family and enjoy the lifestyle I desire outside of work. iNET and how I chose to approach my opportunities there allow me to do that.

An Opportunity Worth Taking

Pros

I've read the reviews on here and the malcontent from those employees during their tenure at iNet. Working the full eight hour days or the 30 min working lunch and the flak regarding the owners, but it's really hard for me to relate to them. My last job required me to work 12-16 hour days EVERY WORK DAY without any structured lunch break (you just had to figure the whole eating thing out as you went). When you couldn't finish that week's work (which was often) they required you work on weekends. The pay was just average. The job and its employers had no consideration for one's own personal life. I was late to my own bachelor party and wedding shower because of the work. In the eyes of that company, you were expendable and it didn't matter if you invested years or even decades of your life into the job. I was ecstatic when I was hired by iNet and I still continue to be. The money I make now after just a few months here would take 30 years to reach at that last job. The normal 9-5 working hours are great too. The working lunch is fine. The company's flexibility to my life is great while being practical and they offer overtime for when I think I need it. The best part about the job is the opportunity it presents. To make money- absolutely. But I now have the opportunity to build up unique and worthwhile experience developing valuable money-making skills. The coworkers are very accessible and offer a great mentorship to help improve proficiency. The management promotes a competitive work environment that is results-driven and oriented towards our clients' success. The best part about this job is the nature of the work. As a copywriter I get to learn a lot about so many different subjects. And the onus is on me to do good by my clients because it's ultimately about them. Striving to be successful for them is how I've been shaping my own success. This has yielded tangible results for me. Within a few months of starting, I've already earned a raise with the effort I've put in. and I'm looking forward to continuing the development. This job is perfect for anyone looking for a creative challenge and wants to see real positive gains for their clients and themselves. If you're one of the people who doesn't like working here, you can always try my last job.

Cons

So much work! It's a positive challenge though, taking it all on. It also goes to show that if this really were a sinking ship, we wouldn't be expanding and getting as much business as we really are.
