Pros

iNET web does some cool stuff in terms of web dev and site design capabilities, which makes it a real shame about... everything else about them.

Cons

I have many critical things to say about iNET web. I'll limit myself to one anecdote that I think is representative of the iNET web experience. In March 2020 there was that one day where the entire country realized Coronavirus would be a thing that would be affecting our daily lives. As I'm sure you remember it was a pretty scary time. We were all looking for a little direction about what that would mean for our working lives. Surely we'd be working from home. There's no logical reason a web marketing company can't be run almost completely remote. Imagine our surprise when we received a company wide email from our intrepid CEO, Steven Libbey explaining to us 3 points: 1. iNET would UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES be working remote. 2. The flu kills more people every year than the coronavirus (Steve had even had the flu once and it wasn't that bad!) 3. The coronavirus pandemic was a liberal conspiracy to sway the 2020 presidential election. We eventually did end up working remote for a couple months when it was mandated by the state. As soon as we were legally able to we were all forced back into the office. Surprise, surprise, a few months later COVID swept through the office and infected about 75% of us. If that wasn't bad enough, for the next few months we had to listen to other high level employees on the sales team complain to clients about how while we were working remote we collectively worked fewer hours. Mind you iNET employees are hourly, so it wasn't about time theft, it was about people not making iNET their top priority at a time when... there was some other stuff going on. As I said, this is one anecdote. Please do not work here. It is a toxic environment. I know the interview is easy and you might be desperate for a job right out of college, but you can do better.

Pros

They are the laughing stock of the Wisconsin digital marketing community. The only reason they're even on any other agency's radar is not because of competition, but because everyone makes fun of how awful their work is, so you can pretty much do whatever you want & nothing will matter anyway.

Cons

They will spend more time trying to get this deleted/cover it up with fake positive reviews than actually taking steps to make themselves better, so I will keep this short. If you are desperate for a job - literally risking living on the streets - go ahead and take a job here until you can get back on your feet. If you have ANY other option, skip past this one. My experience at iNet did not advance me in any way, and despite having over a year of experience, I left iNet at square one because no one in the industry considers iNet experience real experience. Other digital marketing companies view hiring former iNet employees as a rescue mission. The company is often described by other agencies as “a puppy mill for marketers.” NO one is threatened by them as far as client success, because all the tactics they use are unethical and there is no real skill used in their marketing “strategies.” Everyone laughs at them as they run around thinking they’re the big dogs - It’s honestly kind of adorable now that I’m back out in the real world. At the agency I’m at now, I am making nearly twice as much money, with a more comprehensive benefits package, 401k, unlimited time off, and professional development opportunities, all while doing half the “work” I did at this place. The difference is the work matters because there’s actual formal training at my latest company, while everything at inet is “figure it out yourself,” so no one knows how to do anything. If you want to make a livable wage doing something that matters even the smallest amount, look for something else.

Pros

The pros unfortunately outweighed the cons when I started at iNET. -They will hire basically anyone -You get digital marketing experience -The benefits are horrible but you can negotiate higher pay because of that -Cool coworkers

Cons

iNET is a very manipulative environment. Management pits people against each other, will message you half-formed thoughts and expect you to complete tasks based on those thoughts, and will make fun of your coworkers. You will meet some really cool people if you decide to work at iNET, but management is haphazard and they're just intent on blaming their problems on everyone else. Management believes that everyone who has an issue with their management style is just a snowflake and call people losers because they quit because they can't handle the iNET environment. Their glassdoor reviews are horrible because the company culture is terrible. Management asked me not to leave a Glassdoor review, and then proceeded to tell me that "no policies at iNET have ever been changed because of a Glassdoor review." iNET does not want to change, iNET doesn't want to grow. They do horrible work with an inexperienced staff that rotates out every 3 years. If they worked on retention and company culture that wouldn’t be the story. Learn, build your resume, and then run.
