Pros
- Most of the regular employees are great people. - Great Christmas party. - End of year swag, including a Turkey, a Ham, clementines, pumpkin pie, and a cake or pie.
Cons
- Seriously under pay against industry norms, even taking into account for the fact that it's Western New York. - No clear guidelines on performance except once every 15 months, and then only if they feel like it. - Unless you do something wrong, of course. Then they're all over that. - Guidelines for software development can change on the owner's whim. - No real process in place (Agile, Scrum, etc.) and no real desire to change that. - Out-of-whack work/life balance and stringent work requirements, e.g. 42.5 hour work week. - Success at this company is highly dependent on if management likes you, and whether or not you're willing to put the business first. - Nepotism.
