Pros

Wiley reached out to me on LinkedIn January 2022. I had recently decided I wanted to get out of teaching. I had a degree in finance but had never worked in the industry. They said they offered paid training, and could place me in a job within 5 to 10 weeks. The training was actually completely useless, but the trainers wanted to get to know you and understand if you were a good fit. It was less like training and more like getting to know you. Eventually; it took about six or so weeks before I had my first interview. I was hired on the third interview and excepted the job. I actually took, very slight pay cut for this job. It was really annoying to make less than I had made as a teacher, but I knew the salary growth was much more reasonable. Once I was hired it took another eight weeks for me to start. This is more to do with the company they place me at. I’ve since started and it feels like I’m working for the bank. They hired me and not Wiley as even though while you’re still the one that cuts my paycheck. I’m almost done with a full year and I am looking at a substantial raise for my second year and will ultimately do better than I did as a teacher. I would highly recommend into the process again. The training pay was reasonable. Like 600$ a week for 20hours. Enough to bridge the gap.

Cons

Took a long time to get from my teaching job to my banking job. Four months in total. The training is completely useless. The online courses are very boring although Only 4/5 hours per day. I think they change the system around, but it took a really long time to get my first interview. Like six or seven weeks.

Good Afternoon, Thank you for taking time to right a review. It was a leap of faith to leave teaching and change your career, Congratulations! I am unsure on the training you went through but it is a key aspect of securing your placement. Interviews can happen after you have completed training but will take on your feedback. Any other feedback please do get in contact directly, Kind Regards, Kat Snodgrass Director - Global Talent Pool kat.snodgrass@wileyedge.com
