Back to office not perfect, but better than the isolation of WFH during the pandemic

nCino employs hard-working yet FRIENDLY people. Being a kind person is in our DNA.

Cons

While I am good with the "back to the office" mandate and would rather work from an office more than WFH, I wanted to share that it does not fully solve the collaboration issue. Think about it. We had a surge of remote hiring during the pandemic and we are also integrating folks from our acquisition of Simple Nexus. Over half of our employees do not live in Wilmington. Therefore, "back to the office" doesn't solve the collaboration problem. I don't have the solution and I'm not criticizing, but some days I come to the office and it feels more like a library. I would say being in the office is more to socialize (hey, that's not a bad thing... COVID was so isolating) than to collaborate currently. In sum, we don't have the same buzz that we did before 2020, but I will say I am thankful that we have more buzz than we did during COVID!

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. And the collaboration piece is challenging! While we have seen improvement with those who are in office, like many global companies, we are still figuring out how to effectively engage and collaborate with distributed teams. It helps us in that, to your point, we have FANTASTIC people who work hard and actually figure these things out and deliver really great work. But we are going to keep working on this until we get better and better at it. It's important! And so glad to hear that you like the Water Cooler sessions. It's such an incredible thing for us all that we have a CEO who wants to engage with us all and ensure that everyone has clarity on where the company is going, what our challenges are and celebrate our accomplishments with us. Thank you for taking the time to submit your review. We agree with you that our benefits offerings are very US focused. While the majority of our employees are in the US, we have critical members of our workforce in non-US locations. And while many of those locations have country regulated and administered benefits, we must ensure that we are maintaining our competitiveness in terms of the other benefit offerings provided by local companies in those markets. We are currently working on a new benefits strategy that will address this in calendar year 25. While we would like to launch this earlier, we simply need time to ensure we do this the right way. Also, on your advice to management that you are unable to list - we encourage you to reach out to your leadership team or even your People Operations contact and provide your thoughts and advice. We create so many forums for individuals who are invested in making the company even better to share their voice and offer solutions. We have made so many changes and improvements based on our employee voices. Anonymous postings can't be actioned effectively. Thank you again for taking the time to share your review!
