Great people and opportunities to grow

Pros

I genuinely love the people I work with. The company has done a great job hiring. I'm also drawn to the deeper sense of purpose as well. The company’s mission of serving others has always been at the forefront, and that’s something I’ve valued throughout my time here. I’ve also appreciated the ability to build and create, as well as the chance to explore different roles and learn new skills along the way. I've had to wear many hats during my time here.

Cons

It’s a VERY fast-paced environment, which can be exciting but also challenging. Things tend to change quickly when a strategy isn’t working. Roles can also be fluid at times based on the needs of the org. Change is a constant. People who are slower / hesitant to change ways of doing things will likely find the company frustrating.

Entrepreneurship and Empowerment

Pros

Rex as a firm has high aspirations and hires in people who have the same. The ceiling is set very high which allows self-motivated employees to do very well here. Key positives are: resource allocation to support innovation and progress, trust and empowerment to grow in stretch assignments, entrepreneur-mentality to make some mistakes and find each product's or business's competitive advantage in the market, surrounded by bright & genuine people.

Cons

When we fail, we fail fast (which is in itself a pro). However, this can feel like chaotic pivots and a lot of energy is spent on start, stops, and restarts. The company can help teammates see these for what they are == opportunities to build something better and more durable, which is better than continuing to invest resources and capital on low yield business opportunities.

Pros

Rex is a great place for people who like to build, solve problems, and grow fast. If that’s not you... this probably isn’t the place for you! Speed is the name of the game, and there’s always something new to figure out, so you have to bring high energy and initiative. The people here are smart, driven, and fun to work with, which makes the long days worth it! It is also cool that this company is more of an ecosystem that includes many verticals: multifamily management, real estate private equity, proptech, and insurance. This means there’s a ton of opportunity to learn, take ownership, and make an impact in different places. I like the fact that conversations always come back to how we can serve our customers better, which keeps everyone focused on what matters most. the culture is built on performance, which I appreciate; no red tape, no politics, just results. If you can perform, you’ll do really well here.

Cons

It’s not a typical 8to5 job. Expectations are high and teams stay lean, which means there’s always plenty to do. Things move quickly and priorities will shift often, so being flexible and organized is a must. It’s definitely a fast-paced environment, but if you like a challenge, enjoy learning from driven and really smart people, and want to grow, it’s a great spot to be at.
