Pros
Credit for salad ($150), free snacks in office- pre covid, pay if negotiated up but not equal
Cons
Warning, there is no sweetlife at sweetgreen. They do a great job at playing up the benefits and an inclusive, diverse workplace which does not exist on the corporate level. Beforwarned if you are bipoc, the microaggressions are very present and can be common occurence. HR does not take any action or have any reprecussions when reporting experiences of slight, discrimination or racial slurs. There's no place where you can safely put in a complaint against a corporate team member. Tone-policing is common and it is typically focused on what the person who reported the offense can do rather than taking any action against the offender causing the toxic work environment. It starts from the top, the people they have in charge from the c-levels to those closest them including their assistants in treating team members with disrespect. There are a lot of team members who won't give you the time of day if they feel like you can' t do anything to advance their career. There is a very cliquey environment that often ostracized POC. Non-POC team members are often quickly promoted to roles without any previous experience but are given the advantages based on privilege, only hiring and promoting friends and referral of friends into new roles. It's a homogeneous mindset and very much a bubble of white privilege at the corporate office. Very high turn over on c-level and corporate team member levels. Work life balance does not exist and will end up working all hours of the day and night (common place across all departments). The outside looks great as if the company is doing great social impact work but that is definitely an afterthought in corporate. There is a cult like acceptance of the toxicity which makes for disingenuous team members. I would not recommend to work here. Office politics, microaggressions, and disorganized leadership make sweetgreen a melting pot of a toxic workplace. Accept at your own risk.
