Pros

New office downtown. Subsidized parking and free RTD pass. A couple VPs who truly care about their people.

Cons

“Leaders” in middle management have absolutely no qualifications for their positions except they’ve been with the company the longest. Hired from within with no true professional experience beyond talentReef (if you know the CEO, you’ll get promoted). Use tactics like “public shaming” to manage their teams. Higher leadership either doesn’t coach poor behavior or isn’t aware of it (both bad). If you’re not a part of the clique, your ideas are not heard. Teams don’t provide honest feedback, but they’re happy to gossip and complain. Trying to improve their product, but C-level leadership makes disjointed decisions. Roadmap changes on the whim of certain execs and priority clients, so some items stay untouched for a looong time. Leads to unhappy customers who are made empty promises. Benefits are okay - no 401k match, poor insurance, non-negotiable PTO. Many employees shared stories of being promised bonuses that never came, or came late, or an amount lower than promised. Even being guilted about asking for bonuses or raises.

Thank you for submitting a review. We’re sorry you didn’t have a great experience at talentReef. We do have truly wonderful team members that make talentReef great. We recognize needing to improve training and development, including training for those starting out in the professional workforce and are actively working on these processes. We’re hiring from diverse and experienced backgrounds to make the company stronger, including recent outside hires for executives in Product and Engineering, as well as a new CEO with over 25 years of experience in the SaaS industry as well as several additions expanding our Technology and Product teams. The benefits package has been reviewed and is benchmarked above average. Employees have health and dental coverage the first day of the month after their date of hire. The 401K plan has been updated so employees can participate the first day of the month following an employee’s date of hire. We value feedback from current and former employees and appreciate you taking time to submit your thoughts.

Pros

Pros are that it is fast growing, and there is TON of turnover within the company. If you know the right people there you can move up quickly based on the fact they need to fill gaps, not necessarily performance. Young folks may get a chance to "prove" themselves here, where at other companies it may take a few years to get put in a similar role. Company does pay well for the most part. CEO is a good motivator

Cons

Sales is never held accountable for making a crappy deal or misleading a customer on what the product really does. Everyone downstream has to deal with angry customers before they even use the product, let alone after they actually see it and try to use it. Total lack of training and management in all departments, but it is a young company and comes with the territory. Just a warning. Product changes very quickly and without any communication internally or to customers - people responsible for training and delivering information to customers are often 10 steps behind the product and development teams. No clear vision is communicated to the company from senior mngt. Very frustrating. Company culture is morally bankrupt. May change as the company grows but this was my experience. CEO can be abrasive at times to put it mildly

Pros

Wage and commission can be competitive on paper similar to copier sales, young culture, opportunity to see the good and bad decisions a CEO and CFO have to make on a daily basis, Impressive Job Title and experience to help your future job search.

Cons

Revolving door. Stuck in the past with old business models and how Oracle was the greatest place in the 70's. Silver Spoon Management that does not dare want people asking questions, which in turn created a young naive culture with low experience and desperate to succeed in a future retirement plan for the CEO and management. No HR which can create an environment that is one insult away from a sexual harassment law suit.
