Alongside Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, we are proud to honor Donna Brandell, a long-time CKRI volunteer, as this year's Susan Hodder Volunteer of Excellence Award recipient. Donna has been a volunteer at Mercy Hospital as a Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute therapy office volunteer, hospital project volunteer and peer visitor since 2010, logging over 20,500 hours of service. Donna isn’t just a volunteer, she’s a central member of the team who is loved by the staff and a treasured friend to many. This legacy award was created in honor of Susan Hodder, a long-time CKRI volunteer who demonstrated exceptional service, compassion, teamwork and leadership during her time with CKRI.
Congratulations to Dr. Richard Birdwell, an orthopedic surgeon at Cambridge Medical Center, on completing his 100th Stryker Mako Robotic Assisted-Arm™ case! Allina Health is proud to offer five types of robotic surgeries, all led by experts like Dr. Birdwell who are actively researching ways to improve outcomes and better manage pain after surgery for our patients.
Allina Health has joined a new coalition of diverse stakeholders to address drug shortages in the United States. The End Drug Shortage Alliance provides a national forum for members to collaborate on ways to bring an end to medication shortages and minimize the impact shortages have on patient care. “Allina Health strongly supports the mission and work being undertaken by the End Drug Shortages Alliance to bring an end to drug shortages and is committed to improving transparency and advocating for supply chain redundancy,” said Ann Byre, Vice President, Allina Health Pharmacy Service.

Aug. 20, 2022- What an amazing turnout and exciting day to raise awareness and funds for melanoma research.
