Volunteering with Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County Did you know that Behr provides 8 hours paid time annually to serve a nonprofit organization of your choosing? A group of team members from the Research & Development team recently volunteered at Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County to help sort food for those in need throughout the region. The team had a blast making a difference together.

Introducing Behr’s 2023 DEI Council We’re excited to welcome 9 board members to Behr’s 2023 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council. These team members represent different areas of the business as well as different backgrounds, locations, experiences, ethnicities, ages, and other demographics. They serve as champions, advocates, and allies in our drive to create a work community that celebrates diversity, provides a level playing field, and is welcoming and inclusive to all. Christina Robledo, Pro Paint Sales Rep, said, "I joined the DEI board to support the mission in making inclusivity second nature and continuing to create a safe, secure, and happy working environment."

Introducing Children to “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle” Behr’s grant to Fresh Artists, an innovative nonprofit providing free art programs and supplies to US public schools without arts funding, underwrote the creation 1000 Chip Art Teacher Kits. These kits, assembled by 21 Behr volunteers in the Allentown, PA area, will enable 150,000 children to create mosaic artwork using Behr’s obsolete paint chips and recycled cardboard while teaching a sustainability story of “reduce, reuse, and recycle.”

Our colleagues’ collective conservation efforts demonstrate our commitment to “do the right thing” and to help make the planet a healthier, happier place.

Serving Veterans in our Communities At Behr, we’re committed to supporting veterans’ causes in our communities, and Habitat for Humanity is a valued philanthropy partner that shares our passion. In 2022, Behr provided grants to 4 different Habitat affiliates in the US. Additionally, 24 Behr team members participated in two different Habitat Veteran Build volunteer events in Lehigh Valley, PA and Pinellas County, FL. Our volunteer program, Behr Cares, encourages our team members to support the causes that matter to them, by providing 8 hours paid time annually to serve a nonprofit.

Giving Tuesday Today is Giving Tuesday. We encourage our team members to make a difference in their communities by supporting causes that matter to them, and provide 8 hours paid time annually at a nonprofit of their choice. Personal charitable donations can be doubled with a company match of up to $5,000 per year. Through our philanthropic partners, we also offer team and individual volunteer opportunities such as charity walks and runs; renewal projects; food, clothing, and blood drives; beach cleanups; and paint/home building projects.
BEHR DONATES TO MIRACLES FOR KIDS Behr provided a grant to Miracles for Kids, an Orange County based nonprofit that provides monthly financial aid, subsidized housing, and counseling to families fighting for their child’s life. Our sponsorship of their Thanksgiving Meal Program enables 250 families to receive all food items needed for a complete Thanksgiving meal. Our team members also enjoy volunteering with Miracles for Kids, including painting projects and help with fundraising events.
