Season of Giving | In honor of Giving Tuesday and in support of our communities, Behr made donations to 10 different food banks in locations throughout the U.S. We also work closely with the food banks to identify volunteer opportunities. Our team members are encouraged to make a difference in their communities, and are provided a day of paid time per year to serve at the nonprofit of their choice. Personal charitable donations can also doubled with a company match up of up to $5000 per year.

Behr Team Members Lead Workshop at a Local High School | Two of our Talent Acquisition team members recently volunteered at Gilbert High School in Anaheim to teach an Interviewing Skills workshop. We Salute our Behr Military Service Members | For Veterans Day, our executive leadership team hosted a private reception to honor our Behr service members for their service and sacrifices. We are grateful for the skills, unique perspectives, and contributions they bring to our organization. Additionally, we provided grants to nonprofits that serve veterans in our communities. This includes five Habitat for Humanity chapters with Veterans Build programs in cities where we have manufacturing and distribution facilities, Working Wardrobes/VetNet®, and Patriots and Paws. Creating a More Disability-Inclusive Work Environment | With one in five people in the US having a disability, and up to 75% of them being non-apparent, our team members were recently offered the opportunity to attend the webinar, Disability Inclusion in the Workplace. The panel discussion, facilitated in partnership with Disability:IN, our national diversity partner, included Behr team member, Irene Thorup, who spoke about her experiences as a caregiver.

"Think Globally, Act Locally" | Today, David Mizejewski, wildlife conservation expert with National Wildlife Federation, spoke to our team members on the topic of Attracting Birds, Butterflies, and Other Backyard Wildlife. We appreciate the work NWF does to protect our wildlife and natural resources, and value our philanthropic partnership with them. David showed us how we can make better choices to care for and protect our natural world so that humans and wildlife can thrive.

Supporting our LGBTQ+ Community | On National Coming Out Day, we hosted an event, Creating Safe Spaces, facilitated by one of our executive leaders, and included panelists from Magic City Acceptance Center and and our philanthropy partner, CenterLink. We learned about the services they offer to the LGBTQ+ community, and the importance of openness and acceptance in creating space that allow all of us to be our full and authentic selves, at work or at home.

Four years ago, she joined Behr as a Pro Paint Sales Specialist, and 2 years later, moved to a Fulfillment Supervisor role. Her most recent move involved relocating to our new manufacturing and distribution facility in Heath, OH. Eva loves that “Behr fosters the idea that you can advance in your career and that you can do it.”

Honoring our Service Members on Patriots Day Liz, Orange County Behr team member and Army veteran, joined other volunteers across the county to clean headstones and help beautify the sacred grounds of over 60 VA National Cemeteries across the nation. Taking place on Patriots Day, it was a way to honor and remember those who served our country.
