CJ Logistics America CEO attends Korean War Veterans Memorial Wall of Remembrance Dedication
Recording his first PGA TOUR victory, Joohyung Kim won the Wyndham Championship on Sunday, with a 9-under par 61 in the final round at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. The victory came after Kim started the tournament with a quadruple-bogey 8 on the first hole. Kim came back to finish the first round with a 3-under 67 and added rounds of 64 and 68 before Sunday’s 61, tying the second-lowest nine-hole score in PGA Tour history. The 20-year-old Kim, sponsored by CJ Logistics, is the second-youngest PGA TOUR winner since World War II, and the first player born in the 2000s to record a TOUR win. With the victory, Kim is eligible for the FedExCup Playoffs and in the conversation about the international team for the Presidents Cup next month. Sungjae Im, another CJ Logistics-sponsored golfer, tied for second, finishing five strokes behind Kim. Im’s T-2 finish moved him into the top 10 of the FedEx Cup standings for the regular season. He also finished T-2 at the 3M Open in July.

Memorial Day is a somber remembrance of sacrifice; to many, it also means the unofficial start of summer and travel. The increased holiday weekend travel volumes and summer activities often lead to a greater emphasis on safety – on the roads, in the skies, at home and at vacation spots. However, at companies like CJ Logistics where leaders typically sign off their monthly messages to the team by saying “Let’s stay safe, strong and committed to our customers and to each other,” safety is much more than a seasonal emphasis. A culture of safety is of the utmost importance at CJ Logistics. “We value our employees and we focus on maintaining a safe environment for everyone to work in,” said Joe Smiesko, VP, Safety, Security & Compliance. “We emphasize that it takes everyone as a team to work together and make safety a priority in everything we do.”
Kyoung-Hoon Lee wins AT&T Byron Nelson — again For the second year in a row, Kyoung-Hoon Lee has won the AT&T Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas. Finishing at 26 under par, Lee won by one shot over Jordan Spieth who finished second. Lee’s final-round 63 included a two-putt birdie on the par-5 18th hole. The 30-year-old golfer from South Korea is sponsored by CJ Logistics. In his fourth full season on the PGA TOUR, Lee joins the list of other back-to-back winners of the AT&T Byron Nelson: Tom Watson, Jack Nicklaus and Sam Snead. After recording his second career victory, Lee intends to make this season better than last year’s. His goals included making the cut in the PGA Championship and making the TOUR Championship, after missing last year by one spot. Lee’s victory marks the third consecutive AT&T Byron Nelson tournament win for CJ Logistics-sponsored golfers. Sung Kang won the event in 2019.
Appreciating supply chain professionals On Supply Chain Professionals Appreciation Day, CJ Logistics joins in appreciation for the supply chain professionals in our organization and around the world who are responsible for keeping the supply chain moving, particularly at this time through the many impacts of the pandemic on industries and commerce. Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) in 2018 designated the third Monday in May as a day to honor the professionals responsible for the buy, make, move and sell activities that comprise the modern supply chain and to celebrate the contributions they make to the global economy. Co-CEOs Kevin Coleman and Sung Yup Suh said recently in a company message, “Our success depends on the commitment and strength of our employees. We appreciate all that our employees do, and their commitment to the team and to our customers.”
