MMH covers CJ Logistics’ technology integration initiative. CJ Logistics’ strategic initiative to deploy technologies the company is using globally at a 1.1 million square foot facility in Dallas is the subject of a recent article in Modern Materials Handling (MMH). The article, “CJ Logistics meets the integration challenge,” covers the company’s work with SVT Robotics and Blue Yonder to successfully integrate technologies including autonomous mobile robots, automated lift trucks, electric pallet trucks, and voice and vision tools with each other and with the facility’s warehouse management system. Addressing the challenge presented by integration, Laura Adams, CJ Logistics’ Vice President of technology, engineering, systems and solutions (TES) says in the article.
Veryable, a CJ Logistics vendor, wins MHI Innovation Award at MODEX. Veryable, with its on-demand labor marketplace, received the MHI Innovation Award for Best IT Innovation at MHI Industry Night at the recent MODEX conference. Veryable is one of CJ Logistics’ business partners. The MHI Innovation Award winners are determined to “create quantifiable and sustainable results in terms of ROI, cost savings, customer satisfaction, etc,” according to an MHI press release. According to Veryable, the company’s on-demand marketplace achieves these results by providing companies access to flexible labor capacity and helping them get the most out of an on-demand labor concept. “We are evangelizing hard for industrial innovation, specifically on-demand labor, as the right first step in the innovation journey, because we believe in the value it creates instantly for businesses and the control it gives workers,” says Veryable CEO Mike Kinder in a blog on the company’s website. “We’re tackling a very difficult operations problem and we’re doing it the right way.”
Implementing robotics and automation to maximize customer value | “Accelerating Warehouse Automation,” the latest video from CJ Logistics, shows how the provider of integrated global supply chain solutions is leveraging TES (Technology, Engineering, Systems & Solutions) to maximize customer value through continuous improvement and innovation. In the video, Co-CEO Kevin Coleman, TES VP Laura Adams and other leaders discuss some of the robotics and automation technologies CJ Logistics is implementing in its warehouses. “We see technology and automation as part of that tool kit to help us solve problems for our customers and create additional efficiencies in their supply chains,” Coleman says. With technologies such as autonomous forklifts, autonomous mobile robots, smart glasses and electric pallet trucks, the company is combining the latest equipment, optimal processes and advanced IT services to optimize the total supply chain, end to end.
