“I am originally from Clearwater, Florida. I worked at Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout my high school and college years - and in the summers, I worked at WinShape Camps. Through those experiences, I fell in love with the business and the brand. After I interviewed for the Chick-fil-A, Inc. Leadership Development Program (LDP), I was so eager to join that I can remember the exact time and place where I was when I received my phone call about being accepted into the program. I was sitting on the steps of my apartment building. The sun was setting – it was like a movie. Ironically, I had to postpone my start date by just a few months because my wedding was planned for the very next month. Chick-fil-A allowed me to start the LDP program in January, so that I could bring my wife, Elle, with me. As an LDP participant, I have been an interim manager at 9 different restaurants over the past two years. I have gotten the opportunity to lead the grand opening for two restaurants as well as work at the corporate support center in facilities management for about four months. It’s been an incredible journey learning the ins and outs of restaurants in almost every region of the US." - Christopher Devine, Leadership Development Program participant, Chick-fil-A, Inc.

“What impresses me most about working as an accountant at Chick-fil-A, Inc. is that there is a strong culture of care here, while we also enjoy an environment that emphasizes innovation. When I first joined the company, I brought a lot of work experience with me, but of course there’s always a learning process with any new company. It was remarkable to me how Chick-fil-A encourages staff to reach out to peers and colleagues across the organization. I felt so welcomed, and it made me comfortable with asking questions as I acclimated to the work. It’s so genuine that I’m truly inspired to pass that kindness on to anyone joining after me, too. There are no bad questions here – if there’s someone asking a certain question, it’s likely that it has already been asked by someone else before. And I have seen that care in personal lives too, not just the professional setting. Someone on my team was struggling with health issues, and the support – the outpouring of love – was so meaningful. That just demonstrates to me that if I ever went through something, my team would be there for me in the same way – picking up my work, stepping in to take care of each other. It’s so heartwarming. At the same time, the ways of working here really excite me. I worked at a number of businesses before joining Chick-fil-A, so I am especially thrilled to see how innovation is encouraged in every area." - Presson Yvonne, Payroll Tax Accountant, Chick-fil-A, Inc.

If you interview for a position on Chick-fil-A, Inc.’s Corporate Support Center staff, you’ll encounter plenty of behavioral-based interview questions. We asked Shawn Moffit, senior lead staff selection advisor, what approaches have helped candidates answer these kinds of questions effectively in the past. Here’s what he said has worked: ⭐ “Prepare using the STAR method. The stories you share should include the Situation you faced, the Task you took on, the Action(s) you took, and the Results you attained.” ⏰ “You don’t want to rush your conversation, but you also don’t want to get lost in the weeds of your experiences. Show that you can bring your story to an end, and make sure to tie it to your larger point and to the question at hand.” ❓ “Ask questions. Ideally, an interview should feel like a two-way back-and-forth. After all, you are interviewing a potential employer just as much as they are interviewing you. Use open-ended interview questions to spark a true conversation that yields meaningful insights for both you and the interviewer.” Are you interested in job opportunities at Chick-fil-A, Inc.? "The project work here has direct impact on decisions in the company, which is really important to me as a data scientist. Before I came to work at Chick-fil-A, Inc., it felt like I could work on a model for months on end and it would result in five lines on a spreadsheet that was glanced at by an executive. But here, everything I do is supporting the restaurants. I’m interacting with people and making an impact in the world. It’s not just a number on a spreadsheet. Today, I’m a lead data scientist on the Forecasting Portfolio Team. I help predict how much chicken team members need to cook every 15 minutes at each restaurant. That's tens of thousands of forecasts that we’re providing on a daily basis. One of the great things about Chick-fil-A, Inc. is there’s a culture of being able to ask questions. I’ve experienced little to no judgment here. If you don’t ask for help, someone will ask you if you need help. One of our core values is We’re Better Together, and it creates a level of collaboration and support that is amazing.” — Landon Swalberg, Lead Data Scientist, Forecasting Portfolio Team

Chick-fil-A Corporate Support Center on LinkedIn: Why This Corporate Accounting Leader Chose Chick-fil-A Over the Big Four
“On my very first day at Chick-fil-A, Inc., I attended an event and sat down at a table by myself because I didn't know anyone. And Dan Cathy, who was the CEO at the time, came and sat next to me. My first thought was, ‘Oh my gosh. I sat at a VIP table. I’m not supposed to be here.’ But he just wanted to learn about me. He asked me about my family, and I immediately started rattling off my resume. But he stopped me and said, ‘What can you tell me about you? Tell me about your family. Tell me about your interests. How can we make sure Chick-fil-A is a place that you want to stay?’ That left a lasting impression on me. I came from a large corporate environment where you could spot the leaders because they carried themselves differently and interacted with people differently. At Chick-fil-A, it’s the exact opposite. Here, no matter what your role is, everyone treats each other the same way.” — Nakia Means, Systems Analyst, Operator Technology Solutions
