The Allentown Campus recently hosted a fun-filled Dog Parade, and it was paws-itively amazing! 🐾🐶 Residents, staff, and community members came together to enjoy a day of wagging tails, adorable costumes and smiles all around. From the tiniest pups to the biggest breeds, everyone had a barking good time celebrating our furry friends. Meet Bob Barker, a 76-year-old resident of Country Meadows of Hershey, who began painting just four years ago. Diagnosed with Parkinson’s 14 years ago, Bob continues to express himself through art, finding joy and purpose in his creative journey. “I just want people to know they’re not done yet,” he shares. His abstract expressionist pieces now line the halls at Country Meadows, and he hopes to inspire others with his work. Bob’s story reminds us that passion knows no limits.

During National Nurses Week 2024, Country Meadows Retirement Communities honored the essential role of nurses in the lives of residents and their families. A special high tea on May 10 highlighted the vocation and dedication of our nursing staff. Executive Chairman Michael Leader emphasized the critical contributions nurses make to health care. Four outstanding nurses were recognized for their dedication: Karen Geiser, R.N., Jessica Renford, R.N., Christiana Mendez, L.P.N., and Kim Pasquarello, L.P.N. Karen Geiser, retiring in July after a 48-year career, shared her journey from aspiring teacher to a rewarding career in nursing. For the full story, follow the link!
Country Meadows of Allentown Celebrates Nurses – Past, Present & Future – at Nurses Day Event Allentown, Pa. (May 13, 2024) – During National Nurses Week, Country Meadows of Allentown celebrated 56 nurses with a tea and luncheon on Friday, May 10. Representing the past, present and future of nursing, the honored guests included current Country Meadows nurses, retired nurses residing at Country Meadows, parish nurses currently serving the community at large, retired nurses from local health care systems, and students enrolled in Lehigh Carbon Community College’s (LCCC) nursing program. Guests were served tea, scones, sandwiches and desserts by Country Meadows Executive Chairman Michael Leader and co-workers and enjoyed an afternoon of fellowship. “It was an honor and a privilege to have such warmth and love in one room,” said Martie Haller, Director of Marketing for Country Meadows of Allentown. “It was heartwarming to see active nurses mingling with retired nurses and student nurses, all sharing support, encouragement and advice. We joked, ‘There is a million years-worth of knowledge in this room. Let’s bottle it and share it!’”
