As a proud supporter of manufacturing education, MAAG Group, a Dover Company, recently sponsored a Senior Design project with the engineering students of Virginia Tech’s Mechanical Engineering department. For the project, MAAG challenged the students to design an anti-seize applicator and bolt sorter, which required programming, mechatronics, manufacturing and electrical knowledge. The project deliverable was a real-world solution that will help facilitate manufacturing and be installed at the MAAG facility in Eagle Rock, VA.

Waukesha Bearings Celebrates Antigo Plant’s 50th Anniversary Waukesha Bearings, a global leader in the design and manufacture of engineered hydrodynamic bearings and magnetic bearing systems, celebrates 50 years at its facility in Antigo, Wisconsin. Founded in Waukesha, Wisconsin, in 1946, Waukesha Bearings opened its Antigo manufacturing facility on May 2, 1972, with a staff of 3 full-time employees. In 2019, the plant expanded to 100,000 sq. feet of manufacturing space and now employs 120 full-time employees. The manufacturing space was added to accommodate production for marine bearing systems and other new projects awarded to the company. “We are proud of our success and growth to become a supplier of precision bearings to some of the largest multi-national corporations from our small-town, Northern Wisconsin location,” said Mark Greenlund, Plant Manager. Dover Announces the 2022 Dover Scholarship Winners and Expands Program Dover today announced the names of 30 winners of its Dover Foundation Scholars Program. This year’s winners represent each of Dover’s five operating segments and a broad spectrum of its Operating Companies. Dover also recently announced that it has increased the number of students being awarded, while also increasing the amount of each scholarship. Going forward, all winners, including previous awardees still enrolled in the program, will receive a maximum of $12,000 toward their undergraduate studies. Now in its eleventh year, the program has awarded 373 scholarships, providing approximately $2.6 million in financial support to deserving students. Scholarships are made available to the children of full-time employees of Dover and its Operating Companies worldwide. Selections are made by a team of independent, college admissions professionals from prominent universities.
SWEP Presented with Trane Technologies’ 2021 Continuous Improvement Award SWEP, part of Dover, recently received the 2021 Continuous Improvement Award from Trane Technologies, a world leader in air conditioning systems, services and solutions. The Trane Technologies Continuous Improvement Award recognizes suppliers who are using operational excellence principles to drive improvements in key performance metrics. SWEP received this honor because of its ability to supply high-quality products in a timely manner, despite the struggles that last year presented to the manufacturing world. Blackmer Increasing Manufacturing Footprint & Production Capabilities with Renovation Project Blackmer, part of PSG, a Dover (NYSE: DOV) company, and a global leader in specialty pumps and reciprocating compressor technologies, today announced the initiation of an ambitious construction and renovation project at its headquarters in Grand Rapids, MI, that will increase its manufacturing footprint and production capabilities. When fully completed in June 2023, the project will result in the creation of 56,000 square feet of new manufacturing, office, R&D, and training space that will create more than 50 new jobs for the West Michigan community and help grow the Blackmer operation. “The new 56,000 square foot structure will deliver many benefits for Blackmer, our customers, and the community.
