Last Saturday, we celebrated Eden's 50th birthday at the Eden Family, Staff & Friends picnic! 🎉 Eden participants, families, and staff came together to enjoy an afternoon of BBQ, carnival games, music, and other activities.
Last week, we hosted a Cheers to Eden event at Salt Creek Grille. Current staff, former staff, families, and friends enjoyed food and drinks. It was wonderful gathering with friends old and new to celebrate 50 years!
In honor of National Volunteer Week, we are highlighting Eden volunteer Sari! Sari has volunteered at several Eden events, including Eden Dream and the Eden Autism 5K, helping us raise money and awareness about our services for children and adults with autism. We are so grateful to have Sari's support! "For me, it’s quite simple. I like to volunteer because I like the feeling of giving back to my community," said Sari. "I like to feel helpful and that I am part of a purpose. I am also very fortunate that where I work encourages volunteering. When we volunteer, we earn hours for our time. With those hours, we can then 'cash in' and make a donation to a charity of our choice. So I feel like I am giving back twice! I have certain charities that I make the donations to that are personal connections to my family, and I enjoy volunteering at others that I can learn more about."
Schalks Crossing Day Center recently hosted a carnival for all of our adult participants! 🎪 The center was transformed into a festival filled with games, prizes, face painting, crafts, cotton candy, and other sweet treats. Thank you to all of the staff who helped create such a memorable day for those we support.

Each and every day, students and adult participants achieve goals such as their first successful trip to the grocery store and their first paycheck. Every individual we support is unique, but they all have one thing in common — they inspire us.
