In celebration of National Volunteer Week this week, we’re recognizing some of our amazing employees who go above and beyond to help others. Whether it’s sorting food at local pantries, cleaning up walking trails in community parks, or building a home with Habitat for Humanity—our employees do it all. They enjoy serving the neighborhoods where we work and live and we’re proud of them!
In celebration of National Volunteer Week this week, we’re recognizing some of our amazing employees who go above and beyond to help others. Whether it’s sorting food at local pantries, cleaning up walking trails in community parks, or building a home with Habitat for Humanity—our employees do it all. They enjoy serving the neighborhoods where we work and live and we’re proud of them!
When Maureen Kiely isn’t managing our energy efficiency programs for small businesses, she’s busy helping sick children and the homeless, or raising funds for numerous charities across the commonwealth. Maureen began volunteering with the Supporting Parents and Resilient Kids (SPARK) Center more than 30 years ago. Every year Kiely offers her time to help with planning and volunteering at fundraisers that benefit The SPARK Center including comedy nights, tournaments, auctions and galas. She also assists with programs at the center when she’s needed. In honor of National Volunteer Week, we’re proud to recognize employees like Maureen who are working together for a better tomorrow and going above and beyond for their communities.

Eversource CT April 6 at 3:36pm · Promoting clean energy is a huge part of Brian Morris’ daily job and he does it with the electric vehicle market. “Utilities play a key role in deploying the infrastructure required to charge electric vehicles, which is a critical component to increasing adoption of this technology,” said Brian, our Senior Analyst with Energy Strategy and Policy in Hartford. “It feels good to work for a company that is enabling the region’s transition to a cleaner and more sustainable future.” Brian is powering the possibilities by developing and implementing programs that will accelerate transportation electrification throughout our 3-state service territory. Nice job!

What most folks don’t see is the hard work that goes on behind the scenes. Every day, our engineers help design, protect and analyze the entire electrical system. To help ensure that reliability, our engineers are tasked with designing a system that can safely meet the needs of all our customers—big and small—in cities and towns alike. It’s an engineer’s job to design a resilient electric system. Strategically locating built-in notification technology, as well as devices that can quickly move electricity around damaged equipment, are among the crucial improvements their work has led to in recent years. Engineers also configure the system in a way that helps to keep customers, crews and equipment safe. Our engineers are planners, thinkers, designers, mathematicians who chart the future and power the possible. And for that, this week and every day, we say thank you.

Eversource had 5 Coops from Wentworth working on various teams. Special recognition was given to Russel Johnson and Tom Petit for their dedication to the program.
