This LGBT+ Health Awareness Week, we’re reflecting on last year’s Boston Pride, where Team HRI proudly participated to support and stand alongside the LGBT+ community. At HRI, we’ve been committed to providing access to care that feels safe, inclusive and affirming for the LGBT+ community for decades. Our Triangle Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) was the first of its kind in Massachusetts, created to deliver compassionate, culturally responsive mental healthcare in an affirming environment. If you’re looking for care that understands and respects you, appointments are available. Learn more at https://bit.ly/47aRBSR.

At HRI Hospital, we celebrated a little luck of the Irish with a fun and meaningful Friday the 13th. Staff and patients enjoyed an Irish-inspired lunch of fish and chips while our TIC theme (Culture, Gender and History) guided thoughtful conversations and connection. We also provided pronoun stickers for our staff to add to their badges to support gender inclusivity and identity awareness. To top it all off, Willa, our therapy dog in training, stopped by to spread smiles and a little extra luck. Days like this remind us how community, learning and joy come together in healing spaces.

Coffee. Cocoa. Conversation. Leadership. Yesterday, CEO Mary Dow celebrated #NationalLeadershipDay by connecting with staff over warm drinks and meaningful conversation. In a hospital and mental health setting, leadership shows up in countless ways. It shows up in the extra moment spent listening, the teamwork during challenging shifts and the commitment to patient-centered care. At HRI, leadership lives in every department, every role, and every person. We are thankful for the leadership our team shows in their hard work and continued dedication to supporting patients. Because when it comes to care, we all lead! #NationalLeadershipDay #HospitalLeadership

As we celebrate #ValentinesDay, it’s a good moment to remember that love isn’t only something we extend to others; it’s also reflected in how we care for ourselves. Jenavier, Human Rights Officer at HRI, recently shared powerful insights on building and maintaining healthy boundaries as part of our Matters of the Heart series. Healthy boundaries are an act of self-respect. They help us: • Protect our emotional well-being • Communicate our needs clearly • Build relationships grounded in mutual respect • Prevent burnout and resentment Living and leading in a trauma-informed way means recognizing that everyone carries experiences that shape how they show up in the world. When we set clear, compassionate boundaries, we create environments that feel safe, supportive and empowering for all. This Valentine’s Day, let’s commit to loving with wisdom, leading with empathy and honoring the boundaries that help us thrive. #MattersOfTheHeart #HealthyBoundaries #TraumaInformedLeadership
