Today at HRI Hospital, in celebration of National Self-Love Day, we took time to recognize the importance of caring for ourselves as we care for others. We served heart-shaped ravioli to spread a little extra love and our staff showed their spirit wearing pink, red, and heart-shaped glasses. Our leaders also passed out donuts to thank our team for their continuous dedication to the patients we serve and to each other. At HRI Hospital, we know that healing starts with compassion, for our patients, our colleagues and ourselves. We focus on empowerment, voice and choice because we believe that people, organizations and communities can heal from trauma. Every day, we build on the strength of our incredible employees and the resilience of those we serve. That’s the heart of Team HRI.

We are proud to introduce the newest clinician joining our ASCEND Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for BIWoC, Renee! Renee shared a bit about her professional journey: “I began my career as an inpatient social worker and currently serve as an outpatient therapist with HRI’s ASCEND program. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from Simmons University. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching movies, and trying new restaurants. I am especially excited to be part of the ASCEND program because it allows me to continue growing in outpatient behavioral health while working alongside and supporting women of color. I learn so much from my clients and deeply value their commitment to taking their mental health seriously. They bring meaningful insight, strength, and unique perspectives to the group, and it is a privilege to be part of their journey.” Learn more about ASCEND here, https://bit.ly/4ax7Ev9.

Before the holiday, our staff and patients enjoyed decorating gingerbread people, a simple activity that brings big benefits. Creative moments like these can help reduce stress, encourage mindfulness and spark joy. This season, we invite you to find your own moments of joy and connection.
