As businesses and schools move toward reopening, some experts hope that a decades-old disinfectant might help win the fight against the SARS‑Cov‑2 virus. Sunlight, and more specifically, the UV-C portion of its wavelength, has long been known to damage airborne and surface-bound pathogens and germs—just like the virus that causes COVID-19. One of the leading ultraviolet-C pioneers is UV Resources, whose principles helped optimize the technology for airstream disinfection and established it as a mainstream HVAC technology in the 1990s. The company has developed some of the industry’s highest-performing, easiest to apply, germicidal solutions to help facility managers disinfect moving airstreams, interrupt the transmission of infectious diseases, and stop microbial contaminants that impede HVAC efficiency.

We hosted a truly remarkable event with our Madison interns. Founder Larry Gies and CEO Andrew Silvernail kicked things off with a fireside chat, connecting with our interns on the importance of discovering your "why" and pursuing your passions. The conversation that ensued once again confirmed that our people are the most important part of Madison and young people are our future. Following the fireside chat, we hosted a reception where our interns had an opportunity to connect with other leaders across the business. Hats off to our interns for helping us make the world safer, healthier and more productive!

As we close out National Women’s History Month, we accepted the challenge of #ChooseToChallenge by highlighting and recognizing Crissy Adkinson, the President of Con-Air Industries. In 2009, Crissy built Con-Air’s direct to consumer e-commerce network from the ground up, primarily serving customers through two websites: AirFiltersDelivered.com and FactoryDirectFilters.com. Because of her leadership, Con-Air now focuses entirely on its successful e-commerce channel. Crissy's dad started Con-Air in 1980, Con-Air got its name because in Florida there is a large Spanish speaking population, so it’s an homage to the language: “Con” meaning “with”, so Con-Air meaning “with air.” Con-Air became a part of Filtration Group in November 2014. What advice would you give to young women who want to have a career in manufacturing? I would tell them you belong and trust your instincts. Even though your voice may be different, it’s still needed. This is why I love and believe in our diversity, equity and inclusion belief statement, “You belong. Our strength lies in our differences."
