Executive Leadership Appointment Alert! McLarens is pleased to announce that Leonardo Garzon, P.E. (Leo) has been appointed as the company's new Managing Director for Latin America, effective immediately. Leo will take the lead on strategic growth, client services and business development in the region, overseeing a network of 16 offices and affiliates operating across North, Central and South America. He succeeds Howard Laidlaw, who after 14 successful years with McLarens and 46 amazing years serving as an adjuster, is retiring from the industry. Exciting news! 10 of our very own incredible women professionals have been nominated for the Women in Insurance Awards 2021. Cheryl McCabe, Helen Walker, Jay Devabala, Kim Alcock, Michelle Greenwood, Natalie Ellwood, Nicola Malone, Sandra McDonald, Victoria Jewell, and Lynn Wickett have all been recognized by the industry peers for their hard work. This past weekend McLarens New Zealand held its Company Conference in beautiful Rotorua. The weekend culminated in our Awards Gala night where we celebrated the best of our staff in Academic Excellence, Customer Service, and Overall Excellence. To select a winner was a difficult challenge as we were overwhelmed with the amount of examples of our staff going above and beyond. Finally, the winners were chosen. Global Running Day was last week and #TeamMcLarensUK was challenged to participate in getting out and getting active to celebrate. Below is proof that our team showed up in full force with smiles and families. Take a look at some of these great entries of the lovely photos and activity logs sent in by our team members and their families. Everyone had fun spending time outside, running and staying active. Congratulations to Danielle Morris, Real Estate Account Handler at our Chelmsford office who won a £25 Argos voucher for completing the most unique 5k – on an inflatable obstacle course! Drumroll and Celebration time! McLarens team members from across the globe are being recognized by the industry for their incredible expertise and hard work. Jon Stagg, Chartered Loss Adjuster, McLarens New Zealand, won the New Zealand Division Council Prize. Ernest Khong Jian en, Senior Engineering Adjuster, McLarens Singapore, won TWO awards (wow!), one for Loss Adjusting Diploma Prize and the other for SYD McDonald Young Adjuster Prize. Nathan B., Liability Loss Adjuster, McLarens Australia, won the Charles Buchanan Prize. All of these prizes were presented by AICLA - QLD Division. Kirsten will spearhead the strategic expansion of McLarens TPA, building upon the firm’s existing proposition to develop a global service focused on quality, specialist expertise and data-driven solutions. This newly created leadership role will support the alignment of McLarens’ regional TPA operations across the firm’s international network. With 20+ years of experience, Kirsten's particular expertise is in developing the protocols, best practices and claims servicing guidelines to ensure the delivery of consistent, efficient programs, across all lines of coverage. McLarens Caribbean New Leadership appointment! We’re pleased to announce that Jorge Diaz has been promoted to Regional Director Caribbean, CAT Manager for Caribbean & Central America. Jorge’s well-deserved promotion comes as he celebrates his 10 years with McLarens. As a seasoned EGA with complex and CAT-related loss adjusting expertise, Jorge has first-hand experience in managing storm-caused damage claims accumulated while working with and leading the McLarens’ CAT Teams for Hurricanes Maria, Sandy Catastrophe, Hurricane Matthew in the Bahamas, and Hurricane Irma in USVI. He is also the CAT team lead for Hurricane Eta and Iota in Central America, and the CAT team leader for the Guanica Earthquake of 2020. ...and this is just a small fraction of Jorge's experience!
