Nearly 2,500 seniors across Noble Schools have received over 15,000 offers of college admissions and earned a record-breaking $500 million in scholarship awards. 97% of seniors had at least one college acceptance and about 8% of offers of admission were to Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Several members of Noble’s class of 2020 were featured in news stories over the last week, including this story on ABC7. Congratulations to the class of 2020!

End of Year Message from CEO, Constance Jones & friends: This year has been one we will never forget. We shifted to Remote Learning, an enormous undertaking, in less than a month with almost no time to prepare. You all did that. We had to adjust the way we teach, adjust the way we communicate with students and each other, and adjust the way we live. And through it all, Noble students remained at the center. I could not be more proud of how this Network came together to support our students and families. Thank you all for showing up for our students. I wish you all a restful summer, however that may look in the midst of a pandemic. Take some time to take care of yourselves. We look forward to another fantastic school year in the fall.

#BlackLivesMatter A Note from Noble's CEO, Constance Jones: As a Black woman, I am devastated by the murders of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd, outraged by the racist act against Christian Cooper in Central Park, and I continue to hold the killing of Ahmaud Arbery at the forefront of my mind in the midst of it all. It is a lot to bear, and I know many of us are angry, sad, or simply sick and tired. At Noble, half the students and families we love and serve are Black; many of the colleagues we hold dear to our hearts and count on every day are Black. We all have a responsibility to protect and honor the dignity, life, and humanity of the people who make up our Noble family, and Black lives across the country. In the midst of a global pandemic where black and brown people have already been disproportionately impacted, Noble students, families, alumni and staff are seeing destruction in their own neighborhoods. To our Black students, families, and colleagues: we see you and we support you.

We are excited to announce that Noble Network is partnering with Brandman University to expand our Noble Forward program! Through this new partnership students will be able to pursue additional degree pathways that lead to a Bachelor of Business Administration or Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degree. We have made extra efforts to connect with our students in temporary living situations (STLS) and provide ongoing support during COVID-19. Chalkbeat featured a story about how school closures have impacted the homeless youth in Chicago. Devontay, a senior at DRW College Prep, is one of the 719 STLS students in the Noble Network. He connects with his college counselor regularly, and we are hopeful he will be able to attend Columbia next year as planned.

Governor Pritzker’s shelter-in-place order is until April 30th, and Noble will be closed during this time. For the past several weeks, we have been working relentlessly to ensure that our students have the ability to continue learning during the closure and Remote Learning plans have been communicated through individual campuses. This isn’t an easy transition, as our buildings provide so much more than just physical classrooms. We recognize that remote learning can present challenges to students having an equitable educational experience and we’d like to share updates as to how we are supporting students and families: Noble purchased 4,250 Chromebooks to distribute directly to students. IT Help Number was created to provide support for new devices. We are providing mobile hotspots to students who need reliable internet service. And we have provided over 34,000 meals. We are very much looking forward to seeing all of our students back in our buildings one day, but in the meantime, we will continue to do everything we can to support you.
