🏆🧑🍳Congratulations to Chef Kevin Blatnik and Chef Cory Stabler for taking first place in the appetizer category at the 14th Annual Men Who Can Cook potluck competition! This event raised funds for the Children's Advocacy Center of East Central Illinois, which supports child victims of sexual and severe physical abuse, as well as their non-offending family members, across Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Moultrie, and Shelby Counties. Blatnik and Stabler wowed everyone with their delicious piggy 🐷 shots, made with bacon goodness and cream cheese. Last week we were busy introducing students to the exciting world of engineering careers! Over 100 local 5th graders embraced a design engineering challenge to build a bridge using customer-provided criteria and constraints, just like our NAL engineers do every day. Students were tasked with designing a bridge using either a piece of aluminum foil or standard copy paper that spanned 9 inches and could support 50 pennies. It was inspiring to see the creativity and problem-solving skills of these young minds. No two bridge designs were exactly alike. The future of engineering looks bright!
