In 2023, Plus One, an Optum Company launched its very first Scholarship Program, intended to help our operational team members attain their Personal Training certifications. Mark Chartier, a General Manager based in Framingham, MA, served as a virtual instructor and mentor to these team members. Here is what he had to say about his experience: “Becoming an Advancement Advisor for Plus One’s inaugural scholarship program was a natural fit for my skill set. Given the experience I’ve had instructing other national personal training curricula, I was delighted about the opportunity. During this period of my career, I find it so rewarding to provide weekly mentorship to colleagues towards their goal of becoming a certified personal trainer. By the end, they even invited me to visit anytime I’m in New York — it can’t get much cooler than that!”
