Last month, Nigel ran the NYC Marathon — his first in what he hopes to become a long running career. With a history in cycling, he has only been running for a few years: “I wanted to challenge myself to do the one thing I hated most, and that was running.” To make it through marathon training, Nigel credits the larger running community. “I joined a running club,” he says. “That’s where I kept getting the motivation to keep going.” Nigel has already qualified to run the 2024 New York City Marathon, and hopes one day to complete an ultramarathon. His advice to others interested in beginning their running journey? “Don’t try to do this on your own. Joining a running club is awesome or having a coach — someone you’re accountable to.”
