Throwback Thursday: When Jack Roush decided to take step away from his automotive OEM experience to reevaluate his career, he made an interesting career change. He became an associate professor at Monroe County Community College. When asked 'why teaching?', he said: "My parents put a very high value on education. I figured they would have less anxiety about my career change if I entered something as noble as teaching."

Throwback Thursday: Jack Roush's decades long love-affair with the Ford Mustang began in 1964 when the recent Berea college graduate purchased - as he describes it - "...a 1964 and a half model. I never investigated, but I might have seen my car go down the line at Dearborn Assembly, where I had been hired to identify quality issues.

Throwback Thursday: An 11-year old Jack Roush read in the local paper about airplane rides at a local air strip the upcoming weekend where, coincidentally, he would be attending a family reunion at an adjacent field. Armed with $20 hard-earned from mowing lawns, he snuck off from the reunion and purchased his first airplane ride in a Piper Tri-Pacer. And thus, was born a lifelong love affair with flying that permeates our corporate culture at Roush. P.S. - he didn't tell his mother until years later.
