What a heartfelt written quote from Krissy in celebration of Women’s History Month🎉 🗓✍️: “When I think of the history of women, I take time thinking of the women in history that our lessons overlook. Rosalind Franklin discovered the double helix in DNA, though for many decades never received credit for discovering it. Marsha P. Johnson, until recently, was overlooked by the LGBTQ+ community, even though she was pivotal in the Stonewall Uprising that brought us closer to having our rights. I think of Benazir Bhutto, the first woman democratically elected for a Muslim-majority country, and her contributions to women’s visibility and rights. These women are amongst the many who often go unrecognized for their contributions to our society. My heart aches that their contributions are only acknowledged in hindsight, but it also fills me with appreciation for the work culture here at Sandstone Care. We have women in leadership at almost every level here within the company, and many departments are female dominated. This cultivates an atmosphere where, regardless of your gender, your successes are praised and you are constantly supported, even in low times. Sandstone Care is the first place I have ever worked where I feel truly seen and appreciated, where I am heard and taken seriously. My credit isn’t stolen, my work isn’t overlooked: I am acknowledged and praised. 🙌

It serves as a platform to recognize the often overlooked roles women have played in shaping societies, cultures, and various fields, including healthcare. 🚀 From pioneering nurses and midwives to groundbreaking researchers and healthcare advocates, women have played crucial roles in advancing medical science, patient care, and public health initiatives.
